Remember the floated 70s TV Daredevil they had once proposed?

Although Angela Bowie as Black Widow would have been fun, your Maude Addams the bigger budget and sensational cast is what it deserved.
I would watch all the hypothetical spinoff movies on the strength of that cast, (Maude Addams) Black Widow solo, the (James Caan) Battling Jack Murdock prequel, a Ben Urich (Gene Hackman) and Karen Page (is she a reporter in this continuity?, and of course Bullseye (Deniro) solo, as he's shaped and exploited by the King Pin.
Love Walken yet he has such a unique stand out presence and mannerisms, could he ever disguise himself?
With Copolla Directing, and Brando as King Pin, I could also have see Martin Sheen as Matt Murdock (yet likely to on the nose)

On a similar note wasn't Fellini once going to do a Phantom film? Is that what became the Diabolik character?

I never would have thought of Sheen as Murdock, but I could totally see it .

I didn't know that Fellini was going to do a Phantom film in the 1970s.

It makes me interested to see what it would have been like in terms of it's setting and tone.
Would it have been set in the 30s ala with a retro feel to it or would it have been a darker , modern day , 1970s feel?

In terms of a 1974 Punisher , that's another tough one.

In a 1970s film version of Punisher , they would probably have taken the Bronson/ Eastwood, archetype of a 40 something guy whose family is killed and who feels the law and society has let criminals run amuck .

That having been said, if I'm thinking in terms of a contrast to a relatively younger Walken Murdock, then another younger actor , who comes to mind in the late 1970s would be Tom Berenger.

He would have been too young at 30 to be a veteran cop in 1979.
Then again, he would have been old enough the be drafted in Vietnam, and having a wife a child by 30 was the more the norm then .

So, it would have to be a dynamic of the character of more of a younger, hungrier, Vietnam vet / Cop, who's avenging his relatively younger wife and child.

On the one hand, you loose the aspect of the seasoned avenger using his life worth of training and knowledge to take people on.

On the other hand, you're dealing with a younger, unrelenting guy who's alot harder to get through to and reason with, and more likely to have the energy and drive to keep pushing things to the extremes.

Nice,, I always wondered what a Lucas created Marvel film would look like. Vader clearly had parallels elements to Doom.
Although the bigger parallel opus would have been Jack Kirby's Fourth World saga, particularly Darkseid, the Source, and the Pact story line.
Imagine Lucas on that in 70s-80s
