I don't know how they'd set it up, but I like the series' low-key feel. No alien invasions, no attacks from Apocalypse, just streetwise mutant cool.

So to start things off:

Jason Dohring ("Veronica Mars") as Jamie Madrox

Nathan Jones ("Fearless" and "The Protector") as Guido

Kelly MacDonald as Wolfesbane

Santiago Cabrera ("Heroes") as Rictor

And who could forget AnnaSophia Robb as Layla

Eric Dane- maddox

Sydney Tamiia Poitier- monet

Rodrigo Santoro- rictor

I'm suprised no-one thought of this...

Layla Miller- Dakota Fanning

And I love the idea of Rodrigo as Rictor

Okay, some words about these other choices:

1. Sydney Tamiia Poitier as Monet
Great choice, chamber music. I'm adding her to mine. :yay:

2. Eric Dane vs. Jason Dohring for Jamie

I figured Dane would come up. I didn't pick him for two reasons: a) His role in X3 was like 1 minute, and b) I never thought he looked like Jamie of the comics. He's over 6', 34 yrs, square-jawed handsome. Since his role was so small, it wasn't a big deal. But for the de facto leader and benefactor of XFI, I went with Dohring, who not only looks a lot like Jamie, but has also demonstrated the rich emotional range to play Jamie's split personalities.

3. Santiago Cabrera vs. Rodrigo Santoro

Ah, the latino hunk from 'Heroes' or the latino hunk from 'Lost'? This is close. I probably went with Cabrera because I've been watching 'Heroes' and have not been watching 'Lost.' Maybe when I catch up with the latter, I'll reconsider.

4. Annasophia Robb vs. Dakota Fanning

Pick either one. Both blonde, same age (by just 75 days), same height (by 1.5"). Are there any other choices that come close to these two? I think not. To me, Robb seemed so perfect to begin with, and I came up with the rest of the cast based on that, so there you go.

So, any other picks for Siryn?

I think Siryn should be kind of young, like early 20's, since she's Banshee's daughter.

Danielle Panabaker's is one choice.

Rather enjoy this cast list.

What is the age we casting here? I assume you feel Eric Dane is to old at 34, but Sydney Tamiia Poitier who also around 34 is perfect for Monet??? I'm certain that Jamie is older then monet in the comic verse. The rest of the suggestions are fine, with either actor, and while I like Fanning and would have no problem with her I'd pick Robb.

That's right. I guess I was so elated that someone had a pick for Monet that I didn't even care about age discrepencies. Poitier might still be cool, but know of anyone in their 20's that would be good for Monet?

That's a great cast right there.
I never even thought that Dohring could be Madrox till now. He has the right look, and based on his performance in VM, I think he could pull it off.

I got it! For Monet: Kandyse McClure (Dualla on "Battlestar Galactica")!

dualla.jpg
M2XFactor.jpg

which more or less rounds out the cast!:woot:

I'd go with Dane as Jamie. I enjoyed him as MM in X-Men: Wolverilop's Last Stand

if Dania Ramirez hadn't been awfully miscast and wasted on Callisto in Last Stand, I'd say her as Monet.

I love Dania, but the Dominican accent is too thick. I haven't seen her in anything where she's been able to reign it in.

Wait! I got a better one for Monet: MEGALYN ECHIKUNWOKE from 'The 4400'

alphadogprempic32.jpg

Nathan Fillion as Madrox
I know he has the same problemthat Eric Dane does, being handsome, tall, broad shouldered, and square jawed, but both his comedic timing and dramatic range can handle Madrox that most appropriately.
nathanfillion1.jpg

BUt if you want someone who looks exactly like Madrox, Michael Rosenbaum from Smallville is probably your guy (with hair of course). I just find his humor annyoing and his drama over the top.

Other than that I thought the painter from Heroes would make a great Rictor, but damned if I'd let them cast Dakota Fanning as Layla.

Nathan Jones is a tough sell. I dont think he can pull of the childlike innocence of Guido. It doesnt help that everytime I read it I hear the voice of Patrick from Spongebob saying the lines.

^^^ Great castings and a great idea, get this thing on TV now!

You make a good point. The character of Guido is an enormous switch for him in terms of acting. But I think Jones has the most going for him because 1) he has a pretty good physical resemblance, as much as a human being can resemble Guido, and 2) he's appeared in several movies in memorable roles. (Granted, in all those movies he's playing the giant for the hero to defeat, but a guy like him is not likely to start out playing Falstaff, now is he?)

I say give this guy some padding to make him look more deformed, a good dialect coach, and have him watch every episode of "The Sopranos", and he'll have what it takes.
