Cats or Dogs?

Need advice:

I’ll be moving in with my dad in a few months and hope to bring my cat with me. The issue is that dad is 83 years old and has vertigo. I’m afraid of my dumb cat running out from behind a corner and tripping him. Dad lives alone, which is one reason that I’m moving in with him. Also, rent is too expensive.

For the elderly, tripping hazards can be nasty. But cats will be cats. I tripped over mine just this morning.
