Caught sleeping on the job

I used to work with a guy who was narcoleptic. He would doze off in the middle of meetings all the time. We used to mess with him when he did. We'd roll his chair out into the hall or even down to the lunch room, because when he conked out he wasn't waking up until he was good and ready. Or we'd just leave him in the conference room without trying to wake him (usually he wouldn't wake up anyway, so what was the point?). Once we wheeled him out into the parking lot and left him. That probably wasn't such a great idea, since the chair had rollers and he could have rolled into a car or someone pulling out of or into the lot or something. He was really pissed about that one, so it was worth it, though. Good times.

I work 12 hour shifts on nights...people sleep.

want a clever way to take little naps at work?

take a bathroom break, lock the bathroom and sleep for 10-15 mins, if somebody asks you why you took so long, just tell them you have potty problems

thats what i do:woot:

We can't lock these bathrooms, they're like public ones because we have about 100 people on each floor. :csad:

It's hard for me to fall asleep here since two of the guys that sit near me are of the frat boy type that like to play random games all day, like turning pieces of paper into footballs and ****.

three of my jobs I do at home so I can nap whenever. The job at the comic shop, well, on tuesdays when there is no one there, I've dozed off

Speaking purely from high school jobbery (in college now), I used to doze off on particularly ****ty days in the storage section of the hot foods section I worked at in the local supermarket. Just took a bunch of the big boxes off the shelves, re-organized them into a bed and then pulled my cap over my face and told someone to wake me when my break time was up. I also dozed off during a computer training session at Canadian Tire, but they weren't paying me, and the manager found me and didn't seem to give two ****s.

Getting fired for that is a bit extreme.....what the hell. Who cares was his job that important that he had to stay awake? Why not tell his boss he was just tired? Blah blah

Damn, your avatar got me! :p I tried to swat my monitor :(

id fire the **** out of anyone i was paying to do a job and they were sleeping.

At my school, you get sent home if you fall asleep in class.

I have 30 sets of eyes on me at any given time, I doubt I could ever fall asleep at work....lol

Oh ****, if that was the case, 90% of our students would be at home in bed.....where they want to be in the first place.

I make them stand for 10 minutes. That usually does the trick.....or I take a swing at the bottom of their desk with my golf club.....hehehehehehe

that works too.

Artie Lange fell asleep on the Howard Stern show Wednesday. They turned it into a bit.

sometimes it seems like mods are asleep on the job.:o

*wipes drool off*....what?

I got caught sleeping at the police department I worked before this one by the chief he laughed. There was a girl working for the department I am working at now who got caught sleeping several different times after repeated warnings was fired, the officer she was working with took pictures of her sleeping and showed them to the chief on the three separate occasions. I feel sorry for her though because by her getting fired I moved up from part time employ to full time. On a side note the cop that worked so hard to catch her got fired himself for feeling up girls when he stopped them. Had several report him.

I used to have a british boss when working at Marcus Evans(though most of the higher ups there are from the UK anyway). And he caught people asleep on the job sometimes. This was the same guy that called a meeting about the **** smeared in the bathroom. He would more or less just walk up to them, look at them for a few seconds, then say, "hey!" then he'd be like, "come on, let's go into my office for a minute." That would be the last I would see of them.

I called the cops on one of my roommates early in the morning. I could tell the cop that answered the call had been sleeping. He pretty much downplayed my concern over my roomies odd behavior. :down
