Is it possible we'll learn of a giant alien race, the celestials in this movie?

I think they'll be hinted at and talked about by Reilly or Close's character but we won't see them apart from Knowhere.

Sounds like they're going to make the Celestials just giant pieces of body parts that people use for commerce lol.

I didn't know that knowhere had been confirmed until now (via various articles). Psyched. Hopefully we get at least one cryptic reference to the Celestial.

In the middle of a firefight:

Quill: by the way what's up with the giant head?

I also had no Idea knowhere was gonna be in it. I had made this teaser a long time ago when the concept art came out. It's from post your opening ideas.

just an idea from the cantina pic.

we start in the cantina with some or all of the gotg, then they get into a fight. turns into a huge barfight. quill could say something cheesy like "it's gonna be one of those days". then as aliens get ko'd and the fight is ending the camera pans out a window. which turns out to be knowhere, the celestial head. this lets the audience know it's gonna be one of those movies. meaning a very sci-fi movie.

Assuming Knowhere appears in the movie, than it seems the Celestials certainly exist. I doubt they'll have any plot relevance, though its *possible* there could be a one-off line by someone on showing up at Knowhere about how "if you ever wondered why so many aliens look alike, blame these blokes".

I can't imagine Knowhere being included in the film and the Celestials having no relevance to future MCU plots.

Marvel Studios is in it for the long run, and because FOX is intent on hoarding the FF franchising rights to make subpar movies we'll never have Galactus.

Celestials would compensate for that, Exitar the Exterminator sort of fits the bill. Also keep in mind that Marvel Studios actively tried to bargain with FOX to acquire Galactus and Silver Surfer at the cost of the Daredevil rights, presumably to include them in the GotG movie.

I suppose I should be more specific: I don't think they'll have any plot relevance *to this movie*. I can imagine them being at least referenced in plot-relevant ways later on, though its likely they'll never actually appear in the flesh.

You're most likely right about that, the movie already has enough to balance without fitting in the backstory for Celestials, but hey, set them up for Phase 4 and I'm happy.

I doubt they'll make an actual appearance in this film, but I could see them being referenced or talked about in great enough detail to set up a later appearance down the line. It would definitely be some kick-ass visuals to see on the big screen.

I think they'll maybe be mentioned as an ancient civilisation from the dawn of the universe. Thought long extinct, but with rumours and myths of them still being around.

If there are any living Celestials in the MCU, I'm sure they will be relevant to the events leading to and during AVENGERS 3, when Thanos will be the Big Bad threat with the assembled Infinity Gauntlet. It would be such a waste otherwise.

Really surprised to see the Celestials in the movie. Which begs the question, are the Inhumans and Deviants far behind?

Also I'm guessing the Celestials will play a big part in the backstory of the Infinity Stones. We only caught a glimpse of it but I'm guessing more shall be revealed in future movies.

in the infinity gauntlet there were 2 celestials and galactus. i guess since galactus can't be used they are going to just go with celestials all the way.
