Characters you want to see in sequels

You don't want too many characters just shoved in. Maybe one new character on Cobra and two on the Joes. Nothing too ambitious.

I disagree. I think a Team Beta operating in the background and providing backup can work; though of course, most of their characters (i.e. everyone except the leader) will be largely without much spotlight.

Agreed there. Maybe as the suit develops he can have it back. But The Doctor's voice was perfect.

Just give him a new helmet/mask in the sequel, and no-one will ask any questions.

I do agree, JGL's voice as the Doctor was perfect. It was almost to the Latta's Cobra Commander voice what Heath Ledger's was to Mark Hammil's Joker in TDK. It was different, and yet you could hear enough familiarisms that you could identify it as the same character. The additional modulation from the helmet made him a bit too Darth Vader-like for my tastes, though. Cobra Commander never had a powerful, imposing voice-- he sounded raspy and slimy, the way the Doctor did, so I hope that the "Doctor" voice is what we get in the sequel, and not the helmet voice.

Agreed. I loved when The Doctor pulled down his mask to reveal Rex. Reminded me so much of ROTJ. The Doctor's voice was alot like Latta's voice but deeper and more suitable for the movie.

I would like to see...Catherine Bell as Lady J (the new Corporal replacing the deceased Cover Girl), Jason Statham as Flint, much more of Zartan, and The Baroness as Duke's wife, as well as a member of...The Joe Team, albiet a probationary member of questionable loyalties, just like Storm Shadow was in Larry Hama's G.I. Joe A Real American Hero, for Marvel Comics.

Lets says that she in the first part of the sequel, still in her prison, she meets with the Comander when he scaped (he has to), she knows now the truth about him, Then, he spell his poison, litherally, telling her why he made so much "sacrifice" everything for her, to give her a pourpose, to give her somnething to believe, to love. She rejects him and he finally ask: ¿You didnt enjoy the power? how it taste Ana? do you like it? stay with me, Im youre brother and I will give you more, once you had taste it, you never can forget what it feels so powerful!- The we Have Ana thinking about it.....
If u want by the end of the movie she can turn into Cobra side!

I would've prefered at the big rescue scene she'd learn her bro was still alive and at the last second choose him over Duke, as like you said she enjoys the power and liberation, but also because he's blood....

Maybe in the sequel this could still happen, and he could twist the story to sound like Duke sent him into the building full well knowing the air strike was coming and that could be another contributing factor for her turning and hopefully remaining bad...

or an even jucier bit could be that Rex ended her programming so she could get closer to Duke, and once he's free restart them and she'd be a spy... everything she's learned could be recorded by the nanites (WE their called)

Zartan is the one needed for the Hard Master Story and he's already involved in the movie.

Another character I'd like to see mention of is Ace. He's a more niche character, but I always remember him since I still have the 12" figure of him in near-mint condition.

I want to see Firefly and some major sabotage aboard the Flagg. Shipwreck could be introduced as a crewman aboard who gets bumped up to a real Joe via heroic actions.

You got Destro as the weapons supplier, now its time for the twins to come in and give Rex a big cash flow. I do want to see Extensive Enterprises. It's the logical next step to expand the Cobra powerbase.

Lady Jaye--- the last remaining iconic female character.

I think that's enough, but knowing how it goes, there will probably be 2 or 3 more characters beyond that.

Point 1 and point 5 kinda contradict themselves... First you want to kill Duke, but you want a better Duke?
Point 2 would not work for GI Joe... too much realism would damage GI Joe... Not saying that GI Joe should be Adam West's Batman campy... More like Resolute...
Point 3 Hell yeah! No "I was once a man!! Snake thingie..."
Point 4... why? Destro is Scottish... He should sound like a Scottish man...

A lot of people I notice would like to have Roadblock but if I remember the studio had a conflict with the character name itself, some trademark/copyright issue with Hasbro, yea I know WTF right? being as they can use so many other characters. Also Brenden Fraser should have been Flint in his cameo so they could use him as a bigger character in the sequel.

I wholeheartedly agree. As great as some actors may be, there's a nigh irreplaceable quality of actual interaction between two people that make performances and relationships more convincing on screen.


As for characters in a sequel, I think having a Team Beta team that works alongside HD's team would be pretty interesting. Naturally, their nationalities would also be retooled a little. This is my idea of what might work:

Flint (U.K. - SAS) ~ Team leader and skirt chaser
Lady Jaye (U.S.) ~ Mission control
Rock n' Roll (U.S.) ~ Machine gunner
Low-light (Israel - Mossad) ~ Sniper
Tunnel Rat (China) ~ Explosives and demolition
Hi-Tech (India) ~ Communications and hacker


Also, based on the setting, tone and events of ROC, I think the following Cobras can make their appearances as such:

Tomax & Xamot ~ Cameo appearance. They're bagmen who originally helped the Commander launder/siphon money out of MARS. After the Destro and the Commander were arrested, they absconded with the money, living a life of luxury. Once the Commander escapes, he decides to pay them a visit. Hilarity ensues.

Wraithhttp://www.yojoe.com/action/08/wraith.shtml (image here) ~ Seeing how sci-fi orriented the movie franchise is, I think Wraith would fit right in. They could even work in a traitor angle by reinventing him as a rogue Joe who left with an accelerator suit.

Metal-Head ~ Come on; he's armed from head to toe with a half dozen missile launchers. This guy was practically made for live-action action movies.
