Charlie Cox to Return as Daredevil, But With a Big (Screen) Twist — Report

I don‘t like the rumors about his costume in She-Hulk…but then again, the MCU costumes look most of the time great.
Never thought, that Wandas cb accurate costume could work

Very excited to see the red and yellow suit on screen.

I'm pretty sure Feige just wanted Cox and D'Onofrio back because they were the best part of the Netflix Marvel series and nothing more than that.

I'd like Jon Bernthal back as Frank Castle but if they found someone else I'd be ok with it. Hell, a scruffy Henry Cavill looks like Frank in the comics but they'd want him as Captain Britain or something.

Jon Bernthal is only interested in "doing it right" in potential MCU return (debut?), not interested in watered-down, "family-friendly" version of Punisher.

Good to see an actor sticking to his guns (no pun intended) and demanding they do right by the character he poured his soul into playing, you know, like another actor of an ultra-violent gun-toting Marvel character. :applaud

I have zero interest in Punisher if it isn't R-rated.

Same. PG-13 Blade, I can live with, but there's some things you just don't neuter, and Punisher is one of them (the 2005 game had to be censored just to avoid an AO rating FFS). Another is Hellraiser, which was actually on the table once upon a time. How they (supposedly) expected to make a PG-13 film about sadomasochistic demons performing human sacrifice (!) summoned by a guy with a puzzle box which he uses to "pleasure" himself with is beyond me. :loco:

That's like trying to cut Wolf of Wall Street into a PG-13 movie, it's just not gonna freakin' happen.

What if Punisher is in DP3? Little red thunderbolts action, get Electra in there too…

Hmm it'd be weird for me if they use Deadpool 3 to include those characters.

Im mostly joking

But it could be interesting to see super serious Punisher butt up against Wade, and even have a more somber heart to heart with Cable as fellow soldiers. Domino and Electra would be pretty fun together too, idk

I can see Elektra appearing in the mcu soon after Marvel Studios' Daredevil.

I want a new actress in the role. Someone who looks Greek this time round instead of Asian.
I also would prefer a new actress in the role, but with the recent tendency of Marvel to lazily rehash actors from different continuities I would expect they’ll bring back Elodie back instead of recasting.

I actually thought Amy Pascal was a guy at first, no joke! That hair does her no favors!

Cause I'm a island boy, and I've been tryin' to may...
Oh I'm a island boy

Considering they brought back characters from the Daredevil show recently, I wonder who else they could bring back from the Netflix shows?

I think Punisher and Jessica Jones work best in a R-rated context and I think it would be cool to bring back the Netflix actors for a new series on Hulu.

I liked Mike Colter as Luke Cage, maybe they could bring him back on Disney Plus.

The only one I do not want to see return is Finn Jones as Iron Fist. Jessica Henwck can return as Colleen Wing, but they need a new direction for Iron Fist.

They don't even need Iron Fist now that they have Shang-Chi.

With the Fantastic Four, Blade, Deadpool and the mutants soon to debut in the MCU, and with Shang-Chi, Eternals, Moon Knight, Captain Marvel and those legacy characters just getting started; there's really no need to introduce the Punisher, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Misty Knight and Colleen Wing in the time being.

yeah but I don't see him *never* being used. Of all the Netflix characters, he never should've been there to begin with. Still has the most movie and merchandising potential of them, and franchise potential as well (Immortal Weapons, Heroes for Hire, etc).

Power Man and Iron Fist was a great, fun series during the 70s/80s. My guess is Fiege will fully reboot Cage and Fist, and start anew entirely. Any actor(s) is better than Colter and Jones.

I'm not sure he has the "most."

I think he did. Colorful costume, flashy powers, great lore. There's a reason Fiege and co were looking at him for a movie - because he would've fit on the big screen MCU (or even standalone) far more than a TV show.

Punisher is controversial. Jessica Jones is really a one-hit wonder character (talking about the comics version - not important to the grand MU).

With Iron Fist, there was so much to work with and so much potential. Rush Hour/Lethal Weapon style Heroes for Hire? Awesome. Strong female POC supporting cast (Misty and Colleen) long before the diversity wave even was a thing? Excellent run (Immortal Iron Fist) that needs a cinematic scope and budget to be done right?

Makes my blood boil even thinking about the Netflix dumpster fire.

There was a time a few months ago when Simone Missick and Wilson Bethel were available to play Misty Knight and Bullseye again when their TV show All Rise was cancelled. But now that it's been renewed again and they're the main actors in it, they're probably too busy with that.

I'm hoping (praying?) Luke, Danny, Misty, Colleen, Jeryn Hogarth, Steel Serpent, etc all recieve hard reboots.

Some actors work on multiple shows. It just depends on scheduling.

Misty wasn't even in the first season, and they never pursued a romance with her. Lastly, just casting Finn Jones was a point of controversy and people didn't want to accept Danny Rand as another white superhero with a martial arts gimmick who trained in an ancient city.

I just don't see how Iron FIst fits in now in a post-Shang-Chi world. He's kind of redundant at this point. And the Netflix series didn't blow people away making them demand to see more Finn Jones.

yeah I know. I was talking purely the comics.

I don't think Iron Fist is anymore redundant than Fantastic Four or X-Men are in a post-Avengers world.

And who cares about the Netflix show? I'm talking about a hard reboot like F4, Blade, and X-Men.

I'd be down for a hard reboot of Iron Fist, but I don't see it happening.
