Chi-Town to implement video security with A.I.

First Manhattan, then Boston, and now Chicago. I truly dislike this trend. It's a big step towards Big Brother type scenarios. :down

Of course this thing is going to become self aware, and try to take over the world.

There will be a day when the only free people are those that don't have any form of technology.

Anyone else here prepared for a Terminator like invasion?:o
Because it seems it's coming soon.

hello big brother

Chicago has already had security cams in some of the more grungy neighborhoods for a few years now.So the idea that they wanted to expand isnt news to me.I dont see a problem-You dont have a "right to privacy" when your walking down the street .
What is it really? Whos affraid here,..the nose pickers?

What I really wanna know is -Why cant I ever be the guy who finds that backpack!?!?

"You're talking about creating (something) that knows no fatigue, no boredom and is absolutely focused," said Kevin Smith, spokesman for the city's Office of Emergency Management and Communications.

Damn you, KEVIN SMITH

You don't see a problem with the idea that the government can create a detailed profile of your movements through a day?

This'll be awesome! I saw it in a movie once. Actually... a few movies. And... it wasn't so awesome. Hello Skynet.

Now you know why I don't have a cell phone. :ninja:

i fought it up until finally succumbing and buying one back in january. stay strong, my brotha!

btw, who's "charlesmanson"?

The Amish have the right idea. Once Skynet takes over, I'm going to southern Indiana, joining one of their groups and marrying one of those rare hot Amish daughters. They exist, I saw Witness. :o

The Amish don't like black people. :o

i think this helps reduce crime but there should only be surveillance in public areas.

The train station downtown Chicago here is always chock full of them getting off the train. And the girls are always giving me the eye from underneath their bonnets. They want to churn my butter, I think.:o

Frankly I don't see the big deal, it's already happened in England and to no surprise a brutal police state hasn't arose. Maybe those gang members will think twice before they commit a drive by.

^Exactly...almost....
Chicago already is a brutal police state.Ask yourself why there hasn't been an Episode of 'COPS' in Chicago from inception>???
Its been on the air since 89!!
Anyway,.= teseract,Why would I care if they had a profile of my whereabouts of any given day.Actually makes me feel safer I'M NOT going to be falsely imprisoned..
And Terry78 lives in Chicago,he knows the cops are already well into your ass with the "Where ya goin?...Where ya comin from?"

I may never get my 15 minutes of fame, but I'll have a lifetime of it on security cameras. :o

If you're so worried about privacy maybe you shouldn't go into stores. Almost all of them have security cameras now, police operated street cameras were the next logical step.
