..I mad you said that and not "Last I checked, Hong Kong was in China..." :up
Lucky, a lot of it is cooked by hispanic dudes here.Last I checked our chinese food was made by chinese too.
There are many different ingredients native to China that don't exist and aren't shipped to America. Also, the methods of making Chinese food are different here than in China. It's also more likely that the food is professionally made by people who are dedicated to the craft of making the food.
It's like searching for the best Italian food here. Sure, in New York, the local restaurant down the street may have the best you've ever tasted, but chances are, it'll never be as good as getting it in Italy, itself.

so... of course they cant be shipped.

i think im too american to fully enjoy it. some of it can be scary ****.i like American Chinese food.....i don't think i've ever had authentic Chinese.
There's no good Chinese restaurants around me. I'm just a train ride away to China Town, but I've had bad food there too and by a place that had a good review in the window. I'm trying to learn to make my own but I don't know how to replicate the yummy of the pork they use. I've got some lo mein noodles and I've got a recipe for....don't laugh...but collard green won tons.
I prefer my greens with fat back and hot sauce. .
