Even I smiled and choked a bit seeing the rerun of the Wrestlemania XX footage.

This is a sad scene for me now. Man, time can make one of the most touching and uplifting moments into one of the most depressing.

What an awsome fight really brought back memories. It's so sad now, I choked up at the end of the fight and I was also glad he gave it his all and got his belt. He deserved it.

Man never gave a lackluster performance in the ring, and he took his craft seriously. My greatest regret for his carreer is that he didn't win the title more times. He deserved more times.

I don't watch wrestling anymore since I'm now older, but I have to say....after watching this man when I was a little boy.....there was joy in my heart. I remember when I used to play with his action figure,man, I don't know what to say.....God Bless His Family and rest in peace, Chris.....a true entertainer.

This is all so surreal. My mouth dropped when I read the news. Benoit was always one of my favorites and I loved watching him perform. An incredibly sad turn of events.

Can we have a single mourning thread without this? I mean, seriously. The military are trained to fight and die. Nobody's trained to go home and die of poisoning, or whatever.

I was actually referring to the civilian casualties but anyway, no one in the military is trained to die. in fact they're trained not to die. to survive. my point is that it seems a bit hypocritical to have a mourning thread about a single individual when you all had about as much connection to him as to any other random person who died today.

The cops still have no idea what happened as per this article:


Detective Bo Turner told television station WAGA that the case was being treated as a murder-suicide, but said that couldn't be confirmed until evidence was examined by a crime lab.

The station said that investigators believe the 40-year-old Benoit killed his wife, Nancy, and 7-year-old son, Daniel, over the weekend, then himself on Monday. A neighbor called police, and the bodies were found in three rooms.

Lead investigator Lt. Tommy Pope, of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department, told The Associated Press the deaths were being investigated as homicide, and that the causes of death awaited autopsy results on Tuesday. Pope said the bodies were discovered about 2:30 p.m., but refused to release details.
