Maybe Topher wasn't alone in the Church, but not important for the movie, it was just a churchgoer.

i don't think he is alone...and when i say "figure", i guess that was being generous. it's more of a hulking, amorphous shape. definitely not a churchgoer. but it's just there for a brief moment before cutting to the next shot.

i'd just like to make sure it's not a shadow.

yeah i see it. strange. it does look like there is someone else there i.e the symbiote. not entirely sure though.

it could be. what if it's the symbiote? what if it's parker? sandman? pretty silly to judge what is or isn't important to the movie based on a split second in a trailer, imho. and really...i don't care if it is or isn't. i'd just like to hear some other opinions on what it is (or isn't).
