CNN/YouTube Debate Discussion Thread

Ron Paul will never be a Republican candidate, because he disagrees with a good portion of the Republican platform that your "hardcore" Republicans (those that vote in the primaries) believe in....its the same problem Guiliani is going to have. NOW, if he could get the Republican ticket, then yeah, he would pull alot of the independent voters, but he won't get that far. Hell, Guiliani is going to have the same problem, just on a lesser scale.

Well seeing as they pretty much all applauded the answers on the Bible (scary answers) its not too much a stretch to say that.

Thought that was particularly ironic considering the question that got the most cheers was "do you believe everything in this book [the Bible]" question on YouTUBE.
Actually the most cheers came from the FairTax questions. The Bible questions had Booes and Cheers, it was a mixed reaction. But the Fair Tax Questions and reponses actually was off the scale.

The one thing that stood out to me in the debate was an exchange between Ron Paul and Senator McCain. McCain got on him for his isolationist stance, and Ron Paul defended himself by saying he wasn't "isolationist" but "non-interventionalist" and concluded by saying "We shouldn't go around the world tellings others how to live, you wouldn't want them coming over here doing that to us...". Everyone, all these staunch conservative Christians, booed him, to which I though "wow, they just all booed the golden rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Thought that was particularly ironic considering the question that got the most cheers was "do you believe everything in this book [the Bible]" question on YouTUBE.

1st: You don't know who booed... that's just you assumption.

2nd: No one here knows truely, the make up of the audience; although, it has been reported that the audience make up was indeed considerably Liberal and considerably supporters of the Democratic Party. Which imo doesn't make any difference. Both parties has the same agenda.... one would be remiss in believing otherwise. It's an illusion.

3rd: I find it not surprising, that there not a lot of discussion on CNN planting question with Liberal/Democratic Supporters. Out of some reported 5000 question, CNN conviently selected Liberal/Democratic bias questions. I wonder why??? Maybe because CNN, much like MSNBC, CBS, ABC, and most of the Written Press slants to the left... much as Fox and Talk Radio slant to the right.

Finally: In America, the Majority, desire and support a European Style Socialist System be it one calls themselves Liberal or Conservative, Democrat or Republican, Left/Right, Atheis/Christian, and/or any other label. Don't be fooled by the Political Correct, I love America, BS. Look at the actions taken and not the words spewed from the mouth.

I disagree. The corporate press is driven by profit and the love of money. Therefore, they slant wherever there is money. I believe they slant to the right, Chris Matthews of MSNBC's man-love for W as an example.

Talk Radio is meant to be slanted. Conservative Talk Radio is Commentary on the news. It never poses itself AS the news. Liberal Talk Radio is Commentary on the news. CNN, MSNBC, NPR and so on IS THE NEWS! It is not commentary. It is not supposed to be biased! Their is supposed to be a difference. If they do not tell you that they are a Commentator, pretending to be a NEWS ANCHOR, there is a problem.

That is a again a lie. The Majority do not want a European style Socialist System. Not the people I know. Where are your Facts to back THAT up? I want less Government, less taxes. I want American Style Capitalist System! Don't you dare pretend to pass of Liberal Misinformation as Truth.

Chris Matthews is a Democrat and his love for "W" is the same love that the Democrats have of "W".... he hates and blames "W" for everything, even people with a running nose is blamed on "W".

First of all, I was not trying to make a distinction between Commentators and News Anchors or Commentary and Reporting News. The Media ability to Influence is what I have always spoke of.... for years now. With that said, if you believe there is not, I repeat, is not, many hours of programming totally devoted to slanted commentary on these TV networks and Printed Press, other than Talk Radio; than you are just blind and totally ignoring that fact. I know what Talk Radio is.... I have done it for two years for University Radio.

This is not about you or the people you know. This is about the Majority. I applaud you and the people you know, for not following the status quo. With that said, it changes nothing... proof is in the pudding.

Oh please.....all news has been reduced to editorial commentary.....doesn't matter if its CNN, CNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, FNC....doesn't matter.......they are all slanted one way of the other, so I just watch all of them, and make up my mind from there...

This is due to the fact that out “news sources” have a serious conflict of interest problem just like the government.

Big business money runs both so in effect you have power players with no loyalty to flag or country (only profit) dictating what is news, what you should think and policy to the country.

Law and government are fast on their way to being replaced with corporate policy if the American people don’t take this country back quickly.

The debates are a joke and nothing more than a kangaroo court to push their choice onto the American people. The sad part is, most people think they actually have an opinion of their own.

It ia wise policy to fact gather from amy sources. The truth is usully in there somewhere.

The CNN/YouTube Debate, both Republicans and Democratic debates is a farce... a sham. Planted questions by planted hacks. Open your eyes and look closely at the videos. America has become Dumb-Down.
Oh no, they would never do that would they?:o
