Collateral

This movie was, and is, pretty kick ass. Tom Cruise gets more flack than he deserves slung at him in my opinion. I mean, maybe he hasn't hit a huge home-run in a while, but how easily people forget all the great work he's done.

Well, he's gotten into the swing of things lately with MI4, Jack Reacher, and Oblivion. Edge of Tomorrow has potential to be really big too.

That's true I forgot about MI4, that was good. I've heard good things about Oblivion too but missed it in theaters. His appearance in Tropic Thunder is one of my favorite more (fairly) recent roles of his, it was so unexpected in that movie and he just dominated.

I absolutely love this movie. It's my favorite Michael Mann film as well as my favorite Cruise film. Shot beautifully and very engaging story and characters. It's a shame it doesn't get more attention.

This and Heat are Mann's best. Truly a great film. The soundtrack alone is amazing and was the first time that I leaned Jamie Foxx could actually act.

I really only liked this movie for Cruise. He was amazing in his role. But the concept is so ludicrous it was hard for me to take the movie as a whole seriously. And Jamie Foxx was pretty dull in it.

It really isn't that ludicrous is it. A cab driver sticks with him throughout the night at the idea of earning quite a bit money but little does he realize he'll be murdered at the end of it. Normally when Cruise's character does this they don't know what he is doing. My biggest problem with this movie is the end. Hate the third act, its like Mann just didn't know how to end it. But the first 2 acts.. oooh man its just perfect

It just seemed so implausible to me. He never considered that the cab driver COULD have figured out what he was up to? Come on. No hit man would ever take that risk unless he's a total idiot.

Anyway though, I agree with your second point. The ending IS stupid and it's obvious Mann didn't know how to tie it up.

Yeah I see what youre saying and there's really no reason why he couldn't just kill Foxx after he found out. Also you're a pirates fan, hard to argue with someone so obviously brilliant
