BvS Commissioner Gordon Casting Thread

If he did appear I would love it to be Kurt Russell just because he is one of my favorite all-time actors along with Robert Duvall. I don't even really care if he looks like he does in the comics or not. I think just both of them have that gentle father-like quality that would expect Gordon to have; especially as an older man.

My biggest issue with Cranston is that he is too similar to Gary Oldman. He reminds of Oldman's Gordon a bit too much in my opinion. I would like someone with a visibly different take on the role. It may or may not be the most popular choice but how about Bruce Willis?

^you many want to update your sig - some of those ages are a bit off:yay:

Eh, I don't think Cranston would be that similar to Oldman. They look a bit alike, sure... but any Jim Gordon actor is probably going to look at least something like that. I see Cranston playing a more edgy, angrier Gordon. Oldman's version was a bit more timid and reflective.

Of course, that's just speculation.

Who is that?

I vote Peter Krause.

It's Steve Buscemi.

Cranston or Russell would be good. But honestly a lot of people would work in the role

Snyder will pick Chris Rock. I'm telling you, it's Chris Rock.

steve buscemi as gordon?

you know what? that might actually work.

I didn't really mean he'd be a downgrade. I just think they'd look almost identical in the role.
Any middle aged white dude with that hair style and facial hair style and those glasses is going to look similar. If you're saying that Cranston and Oldman look identical... then i can't agree with that at all.

Maybe, but I just think they'd look damn near identical in the roles. It would all come down to the characterization in this particular show because that will make them look similar or not to me I guess.

I see Cranston as more battlehardened than affable for Gordon. Of course, this also means another interesting take on the character :word:

Oh this thread again. Cue Cranston, Selleck, and Kurt Russell.

Snyder and the folks at WB would be stupid not to cast Bryan Cranston as Gordon...

I also wouldn't mind Jeff Bridges

Either of the two would be fine with me

A lot of good choices here, but here are a couple more - Dennis Quaid and William Hurt.

Looks wise Cranston is perfect and I'm sure would be awesome in the role. Kurt Russell would be great too! I really hope they announce the rest of the cast soon.

Kurt Russell could be great too.

can't really go wrong between him and Cranston.
