but it was lost related..should they cancel lost for the week as well? or not run any ads?

Well with all due respect, im from Miami so im nowhere near Kentucky. Its not like they were making fun of the incident. I understand people are angry, but they have to look at the context not the actual act. I still stand behind my statement, I thought the skit was hilarious, but Im not stupid enough to think that people werent offended by it. Im sorry for your losses.

Maybe they should pull Snakes on a Plane from theatres out of respect for the victims of the plane crash.:o:rolleyes:

Oh gee...what was I thinking...how can I compare not seeing one joke on a TV show and maybe a whole week without Lost to the death of 49 people....how insensitive of me to dare think about depriving people of that.

They need to cancel all the Law and Orders and CSIs out of respect for all the crime victims and their families.:cmad:

 don't get all huffy now. just because something happened to you doesn't mean that it's more important, women get raped daily, yet I don't see raped banned from tv screens or movies. :down

Television is chock full of disaster, violence, sex and crime. If you're the type of person who gets offended by that stuff then don't watch television.

Sadly, the world doesnt stop for every tragedy. For god's sake, they played Final Destination on tv yesterday.

That works better than "Should they cancel Lost?" 'cause, I don't watch Lost, but as far as I know they're on the island all the time.

Surely they aren't still milking flashbacks from the crash, still.

I agree with C.Lee, it was insensitive. That's why I never watch those despicable Looney Tunes cartoons... my best friend was killed by an anvil and Warner Bros. has the gall to continue to air those cartoons.

They shold cancel Lost out of respect for people stranded on deserted islands and people who have flashbacks:cmad:

they are.

So when did the plane crash happen, how long before the Emmy telecast began? I don't watch awards shows and wasn't watching anything local last night, so I didn't hear about any of this until this morning.

As for the topic of the thread, I never really found Conan all that funny, a lot of the humor I found in the show came from Andy Ritchter. I get my late night entertainment from the Daily Show and Colbert Report.

"I'ma gonna go to hell when I die...I'ma gonna go to hell" - Conan O'Brien

:)

Conan rules!

I'm sorry, but you're just being very bitter about this entire thing. I mean, I feel bad for the losses and everything, but this was not NBC's fault.

This happened yesterday, right? How could NBC possibly forsee this happening? And why should they record two monologues, in the fear of one of them coming true? It's not as if they planned this as a parody of the Kentucky crash.

I don't see your logic here.

heh, i love this one...when conan tries to sell his '92 ford taurus:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df4njggXQCE

does anyone have video of the sketch where 5 dentists are locked in a cabin with a gun and the last one to kill themself wins?

I frikin love this one  I couldn't stop laughing :D Conan started making funny faces just as I got a drink of water in my mouth. It was all I could do to not spit it out :p

There's this one skit where conan is saying something then that guy says "WHAT, NOOOO!!! THERE'S NO REASON TO LIVE!!!"

Then he get's into a veichle or something then they play a video of him falling off something, where can I find that?

saying this is Conan's fault is absolutely rediculous! This is NBC's fault...but the skit...the skit was funny. Its just bad timing...And Conan was hilarious through the whole show. And they could have just been in too much of a hurry to get the broadcast going and made a poor decision to air it anyway. They are now being asked to apologize for it...which is what we all expected would happen. So F****** leave Conan out of this...He'll probably also publicly apologize when he returns to his show later this week.

Hooray for political correctness! It's sooooooo neat! Yay! I love the idea of supressing creative material in order to keep people from being offended! I love that "sensitivity" should pre-empt entertainment in a primarily entertainment-based medium! Yaaaayy!!!

I don't think an apology is necessary, at all.
