Apocalypse Continuity debate

Should we excepts changes to the timeline/continuity

  • Yes, DOFP changed everything so change was inevitable.

  • Yes, Bryan singer is the creator we should except his vison

  • Maybe, some changes were inevitable

  • No, something's need to stay the same to fit with the OT

  • NO, NO CHANGES SHOULD BE MADE

  • Other ideas

  • There have always been continuity errors, why worry?!

Xmen has never had strong continuity and with revelations of warren worthington III appearing before the OT character was born.... Does it matter?!! Should we simply ignore everything in the past?? Or does it make things evenpre complicated?!

I've seen some websites comment on this already and it comes across as a negative impacts.

I fully appreciate that there would be changes as we enter a new timeline but when do thinte go to far.

Oh dear please someone Change except to accept ;(

OTHER IDEAS.

Changes should be after 1973, not before 1973.
I won't accept no logic.

i don't care.. many things could have happened in the ot, things we might not even be aware of. what if warren was born earlier in the ot but died, and his parents cloned him years later ? i know, it's beyond stupid, but sillier things have happened in the comics. the point is, we should just go with the flow. endless *****ing and moaning won't change anything.

and what if you don't like those 'other ideas'? you're gonna stop watching? sure. :whatever:

Sure, I wont' stop watching, but I won't rate it at same level as X2.

My view is, FC was a soft-reboot, the OT actors at the end of DOFP were used because we all know them as the characters from before, it's just easier. I just see it as a different trilogy and don't worry about it keeping in line with the OT. Unless someone dies and then appears in future films when they are meant to be connected, I don't see the problems as major.

If we get more OT films and they try to keep in line with the events of DOFP ending etc. I will probably change my stance

It doesn't bother me as a viewer, nor will it negatively affect the box-office of the movie.

Time-travel gobbledegook = things are different.

I'm still hoping for new versions of Rogue, Iceman, etc in the 80's.

If you reallly want it to make sense, now that we know that time-travel is a mutant ability in this universe, any changes can be explained away as 'a mutant changed the timeline at some point'.

I personally expect some changes but surely angel can exist, you can't just change when they are born. Unless this angel isn't called warren worthington...

Let them change whatever they need to in order for this new trilogy to be the best it can be. As long as they don't ruin important (not easter egg) continuity within FC and DOFP they are fine.

It's time to compete with Marvel Studios and DC Studios. To do that you need all the bullets in the chamber. Recast everyone from the OT as 18-21 and build up this Fox Universe.

Agreed. I won't lie, it's a little irritating to me that the X-Men isn't as revered in mainstream like The Avengers are currently, or dominating the box office. I'm hoping that this movie blows away all expectations and cracks a Billion.

The Billion probably won't happen, but it's just wishful thinking on my part.

Pretty much this.

Time travel I allow for changes but I do think if you go too far it effects the overall quality and confuses the GA and a lot critics lay into the changes.

I love the series and I hate seeing it have any negative press and things like angel worry me las he was established in x3. Someone like jubilee was never established enough to warrant fear

With this story i don't think you can hide behind alot of continuity

I say, why worry. Let the story be what it is.

Again time travel In DOFP rebooted timeline.there are 4 things of relvence going into Apocalypse

1:Post credit scene of DOFP of apocalypse In Egypt
2:The events of First Class
3:the 1973 events of DOFP from Wolverine awakening in 1973 body to events In Washington DC
4:2023 that wolverine wakes up In at ending of film

All those who complain about contunity and yet want rogue, iceman,Colossus, and Kitty In Apocalypse causing major problems with
DOFP:whatever:

The wolverine film is almost certinly sequel to future ending of DOFP.
Deadpool may be set in present day if they are recasting Colossus.

Apocalypse will almost certinly focus on FC big 4-Xavier,Magneto,Mystique,Beast as well as Apocalypse

You have return of quicksilver and Moira as well as bringing in Cyclops,Jean,Storm,Nightcrawler,Jubilee,Angel, and possibly Psylocke as well.
I think that's enough characters.

Trying to make sense of the X-men's mess of a continuity is a fruitless venture. Just let them tell the stories they want to tell.
How did Professor X get his body back? How did Wolverine get his metal claws restored after Silver Samuari chopped them off?
Doesn't matter, the film makers aren't concerned with that so let's not concern ourselves with it either. As feedtreeonafrog said, time travel gobbledegook means screw it, do what you want.

I just view them as two different trilogies and The Wolverine as a great stand alone story.

X1, X2, DoFP
FC, DoFP, Apocalypse

Absolutely deteste that they are recasting colossus! In fact I think a dead pool movie is pointless! A distraction from the main films

the way i see it, Days of Future Past had a HUGE affect on the timeline

Do whatever you want. Just gimme good movies and good stories. They're on a hot streak right now.

The continuity is all over the place anyway. Just make good films and we will forgive you if it doesn't make sense.

Try and have a cohesive plan for the future though.
