Cop killer on the run calls out to celebs

FOX has live video up, though its pretty useless... helicopter just circling the area. Can't really see anything.

CNN reports that new helicopters are being asked to leave the area for their safety.

Its pretty much at a stand still right now, i guess he is heavily armed in that cabin

2:52 PM PT -- TMZ has learned ... the L.A. City Fire Dept. is airlifting the L.A.P.D. SWAT team to Big Bear so they can help with the standoff.

2:39 PM PT -- The FAA has implemented "Temporary Flight Restrictions" around Big Bear due to the gun battle. Only law enforcement aircraft can fly in the restricted area.

The restricted area is 5 miles in radius, from the ground up to 13,000 feet above sea level, which is about 5,000 feet above ground level.

They are worried he might have hostages.

They can't even shoot at the cabin if he has hostages.

That's what I thought too, but the police keep saying that there is gunfire currently on both sides.

CNN Breaking News said:
San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon has asked that news helicopters pull back or leave the area of the barricaded suspect. "Gunfire is being exchanged between law enforcement and the suspect; your personnel are in danger and could contribute to officer safety on the ground," the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department said in a statement.

They'll probably wait him out at this point. It doesn't seem like they can send people in safely. This could go on for days.

Uncorfirmed rumors from LA times, one of the officer that was shot by Dorner has died.

Also unconfirmed Dorner apparently has been holed up in that house for DAYS now, holding the couple that lives there hostages

Apparently one of the hostages escaped today. So there is only one still in there.

They found his burned out car on Wednesday, didn't they? If that's the case it's possible he's had that couple hostage for almost a full week.

The LAPD spokesman is a bald T-1000. Don't trust him!

CNN says LAPD will start a news conference very soon.

EDIT: Nvm, its already in progress.

This dude has no plans to give himself up, he's already too far gone and too sure of what he feels is injustice. They don't even know how much or how massive of firepower he has on him.

I really, really hope he doesn't have some Predator-like suicide plan for when the end comes. Because even he must realize that the chances of escaping this situation are practically non-existent.

I wonder if they'll try and wrap it up before nightfall, or if that's not a concern?

LOL!

I almost swallowed my cig, you bastard:oldrazz:

If I had to bet...it won't end peacefully.

And if so, that's Dorner's fault too.

Yes and no. It's completely Dorner's fault for putting them in that situation, but law enforcement have a responsibility to protect civilian life regardless of the circumstance.

Which they will to the best of their ability. But if he continues shooting, and others are hit in the crossfire and/or he's using them as human shields...that's on him. Sometimes hostage situations reach an impasse, and the unfortunate has to happen.

CNN is reporting that the cops are stopping and checking the interiors of vehicles on a four-lane road in the area... ??
