Corona and other diseases

I want to believe that China has no new cases, but they weren't exactly up front when they started to see major cases, so...

Ohio's governor DeWine today implied that an Ohioan who tested positive had just come back from Spring Break. Morons.

They‘ve cut down Netflix for 25%...sure it’s only 25%...at the moment...

They also seem a lot more proactive in how they've handled it though, they had hospitals built in days for the sick & I saw a video of them spraying the streets with something presumably to disinfect the area.

But yeah, I wouldn't believe they've had no cases, in a country that size, that many people, no way..

Sounds like South Korea is the only country right now that actually has their act together when it comes to dealing with this epidemic. I even heard that unlike most places in the world, their citizens aren't panic shopping or hoarding all of the toilet paper.

Speaking as a Christian myself, this was not pleasant to read. There's a difference between being faithful and being reckless.
My church cancelled services indefinitly back on Monday.

Taiwan and Singapore too.

Edit: and Hong Kong

There's no way China can say they have zero new cases unless they tested most their population simultaneously.

Terribly cavalier of the pastor.

That said, think of how coordination on this scale was not possible even 30 years ago. The nature of media and communication during the Spanish Flu era made putting a stop to a disease spreading a lot harder if not impossible.

While this pastor is being a moronic jackass of epic proportions, think of all the churches, temples and mosques that have complied. This is something unheard of pre-Internet/social media. The closest might be the unity of purpose and coordination during WWII on the homefront and even then we are talking about a smaller population and the very digestible concept of a country on war footing. It is a much easier concept to get your head around than "flattening the curve" for most. Also I suspect people would have less issues with the economic and social disruptions if this were in fact "war" as opposed to a biological incident.

If Netflix and the other streamers have issues dealing with capacity and shut down... Oh man is the divorce rate gonna be crazy in 18 months.

:o
They don't even have Contagion on their platform... they have Outbreak. Sure it has Morgan Freeman over Laurence Fishburne, but it's not enough. :argh:
