Which is what confuses me with the athlete antivaxxers. Covid can seriously f up your career.

It doesn't matter if they are athletes. They are working with the same mindset, and unless they are forced, they won't get vaccinated. Like Andrew Wiggins. Who only got the vaccine because he plays in San Francisco and the city/league wouldn't let him play any home games without it.

These people will selflessly, literally risk their lives and be around contagious viruses regularly just to help and treat complete strangers. But they won't take a vaccine so that they can continue helping people and working at a hospital.

Its such an odd line in the sand.


Something I hadn't considered at all until last night, I wonder how much trypanophobia (fear of needles and shots) is impacting vaccination. Ive known people with this phobia, and it really can be crippling. I've seen people pass out, vomit, go into hysterics, and run from doctors and nurses. A cousin of mine always had a meltdown when it was time for school shots, and I know adults that cant even look at hypodermic needles. Is the government, CDC, or hospitals doing anything to deal with this phobia during this pandemic?

The UCLA Medical Center is our hospital and Med Plaza right next to it is where most of our family doctors practice. They have some of the finest physicians in the world (Ranked #3 in the country and #1 in California) and their daily routine is saving lives that few others can. I can't tell you how much comfort I take from articles like this. When I go into ANY building at UCLA, I am required to wear a mask and it doesn't matter that I am fully vaccinated WITH a booster shot.

Some of you probably remember me saying that I used to be a statistician, taught probability and statistical analysis at the University of California and making the following point; no matter what profession you pick (health care, sports, professor, etc.), if you have a large enough sample, you are going to get "outliers". You could also refer to them as self absorbed @$$#0!e$ who illustrate their disregard of the freedom of others to live healthy lives in their own cloak of personal freedom. If people don't want to get vaccinated, don't, but stay away from the rest of us who understand that there is also a collective responsibility. Go die somewhere else.

Man, I’m so sick of hearing videos watched by my parents from “experts”, complaining about oppressive mask mandates signaling the fall of American values and the coming of Satan, claiming to espouse righteous virtues “freedom” and “health”, yet so callously disregarding the lives of others around them by defying sense in the name of “owning the libs”.

If I wasn’t in such bad physical and financial shape right now, and had the means to take care of myself, I would really consider moving in with someone else. My mental state can’t take it anymore.

Sadly, my parents also buy into that.

They believe that God is in control of everything, yet think every little “evil” thing done by liberals will bring forth the Antichrist and his reign on earth. They also seem to forget that the Bible states Satan and his followers will be “cast into a lake of fire”. So, why would they even have anything to worry about in the first place?

They have more faith in Satan than their own God.
