Scenes like Brighton beach the other day aren’t very encouraging. Luckily the death rate has fallen a lot or we would probably be back to how bad it was at its peak.
I can't believe how stupid some people are. You won't get me anywhere near beaches at the moment. I also like the occasional pint, but there is no way I will visit a pub or restaurant until there is a tried and tested vaccine.
I haven't heard of that happening in other countries where they've had to shut down meat processing plants so I don't think that is the problem. Of course it would be a whole new level of danger if it was.
They are COVID deniers, probably the same people as climate change deniers. They don’t trust the media or mainstream scientists. I don’t know how much of their thinking is based in paranoia and how much in thinking they are smarter than everyone else.
The truth is, a lot of people would rather have never shutdown in the first place, and now that they get any "freedom" they take it the extra mile right out of the gate. They aren't worried about getting sick. They think they will beat it, and if others die, they don't care as long as they aren't their friends or family.

At least they require the staff to wear them. The employees don't wear them and it's usually the manager pushing a Trump narrative that does it.I work at Family Dollar (the competition) and we as employees are supposed to wear masks, but Corporate told us we can't refuse customers for not wearing them.
