I'm getting pretty damn close to my mother's POV on the vaccine... Which sounds crazy at first glance but given who and what we are dealing with... Trump's handling of this is so botched he is even going to have a negative affect on vaccination. I'm not just worried about how he would handle distribution of a vaccine but honestly, can we say any of us would take any proclimation of the safety of a vaccine developed with any input from the Trump admin. at face value?

And... That's gonna drag this out more because I doubt mistrust of Trump is a narrow thing. If people are slow to adopt a vaccine it goes against the very benefits of such a vaccine for society. And it well could be 100% safe and just what we need... Trump taints everything, unfortunately.

Not that Trump is going to factor with my decision as to when I will take a Covid-19 vaccine. But I definitely won’t be an early taker of anything that has not been, shall we say, rigorously tried and tested.
I’m going to hold on for a few months after that and see what happens. After all, it’s not like I’m going anywhere...

There’s a reason why it takes a long time for new drugs and treatments to come to market, and it’s not always about profit! So I am not volunteering to be an unpaid lab rat for a vaccine that might have some side effects which are worse than the disease it treats.
Now, if they wanna pay me a lot of money to take it? Well, that’s another conversation...

That is the kind of math acceptable to the Republicans. They don't care above lives. They care about what they want personally.

And I am definitely not hopping on this vaccine train either. I'm getting my flu shot this year, I get whatever vaccines are definitely safe to take (being pretty much anything pre-Trump era) and until there is an international consensus that any COVID-19 vaccine is safe and effective, I am not touching anything tainted by this administration.

There was a ton of folks that raised the alarm of how terrible he was and would be as POTUS. As bad as it is that he was too easily seen as a joke is how many do take him and his pronouncements seriously.

Not really. People only raised the alarm when he was going to be POTUS for real, but i am not talking about them. There is always "someone" of course, but yeah... no. Certainly not tons. And the people who take him seriously are as bad as those that take him as a joke and those are as bad as those who are indiferent and those are as bad as those who piss in the wind... in other words, each has its own place.

Even though Jeb Bush was saying these words in the context of a hypothetical President Trump’s ability to protect America from terrorism, it’s eerie how much his words rings even more true today for our present reality where that same chaos candidate eventually became the same chaos President that has failed to protect thousands of American lives(over 215,000) from perishing in a deadly pandemic.
