FFS. Just shut down the pubs and bars. Keep everything else going but with social distancing, masks and so on, then watch the infection numbers plummet after three weeks...

You know, way back when the UK government announced that pubs and the like were reopening. I think they called it "Super Saturday" or some such drivel...
I turned to my partner and said that after about 4 weeks (or maybe quicker) just watch those Covid-19 infection rates soar.

And thus, it appears that I am a better prophet than a cheerleader.

But honestly, it does not take anyone with a particularly big brain to realise that hundreds of people gathered together and getting pissed will not adhere to any form of social distancing or any other Covid-19 infection safety measures.
But the UK government goes on about how this increase could not have been foreseen... To which I say "bollocks".
