Corona and other diseases

Rogan is a very odd fellow. To be sure, he’s given a platform to many quacks. But weirdly, he’s also hosted a good number of respectable scientists. E.g., Neil deGrasse Tyson, Brian Cox, Lawrence Krauss, Richard Dawkins, Brian Greene, Sean Carroll, Robert Sapolsky, Steven Pinker, etc. And with regard to COVID, specifically, he’s interviewed MDs Sanja Gupta and Peter Hotez. I’ve never heard/seen a single episode of Rush Limbaugh or Alex Jones. But I’d be surprised if they had as many (or any!) pro-science/pro-rationality guests.

He is an idiot. Simple as that. Most people grow out of their "libertarian" phase in college.

I remember some were saying last year that smokers and vapers are less likely to get covid because their lungs are coated in chemicals that the virus can't tolerate. :hehe:

If this cannabis thing is true the Dems have been handed the perfect campaign for legalizing weed.

I'm willing to make eye contact with them as I eat my dinner from inside a restaurant.

Japan can often be weird. But they can also be quite innovative too.

Beginning of the new year, our DOH center was handing out rapids no questions asked. Could have easily gone to grab more, but amid the shortage, I opted not to take advantage of the system so more in my community, this dumb**** red county in PA, would benefit from what we should have been regularly given months ago.

My 2 year old son's daycare was shutdown yesterday due to another spike in positive cases. He hadn't been to daycare since Thursday of last week, the timing of which lined up just enough for him to be an exposure risk. Started showing the mild symptoms last night, so we went on the hunt for rapids this morning. Found them on a Target endcap. His was deep red within 3 minutes. Wife and I are doubled + boosted and tested negative so far, but she's 6 weeks out from her due date with our #2.

Hate that we lived by the rules for two years for this to happen. Masks, shots, work, social sacrifices, and only ever loosening our grip under the tightest of precautions. I'd finally had enough of social decorums and loaded up on rapids past the customer limit. Don't feel great about it, but nevertheless feel like I've been pushed out of the societal selflessness I felt bound to.
