This was us months ago. Horrible because in theory if they had vaccinated properly most of this could have been avoided.

The good news is U.S. COVID19 hospitalizations are not as high as this time last year or this time in 2021. The bad news is the number is still slanting upward.

I believe that vaccinations have kept our hospital and death numbers at that much lower level.

I read that more at home tests were readily available and people were not reporting those positive cases.

Yeah that's why the hospitalization/death figure is a better indicator now than positive tests, though both lag the infection by days/weeks. Even if someone tests positive on a home test and it isn't reported...the hospital or coroner will if they end up there.
