Just watched the trailer for the first time. I was interested beforehand just with the idea of Daniel Craig in the old west, now I am quite ready for this.

In the trailer I keep catching glimpses of Harrison Ford in the cowboy hat and I keep thinking of the "other hat" he used to wear.

Speaking of Ford and his "other hat", they payed homage to Indy hat issue in Sunday's The Walking Dead...

I kind of hope we don't see what the aliens look like before the movie is released. I'd like that reveal while I'm watching the movie.

Having said that ... I'm a total sucker for spoilers. I can never resist. That's assuming we just don't see them in an upcoming trailer either.

Same, we didn't get to see the aliens in War of the Worlds in any promotional stuff.

But I'm not a big fan of WotW, didn't like the aliens much at all...

Indeed! I hate it when trailers reveal everything.

:awesome:

^Those ships in the trailer were so small, I doubt that guy would fit in there well.

Took me a sec to realize that was Woody and Buzz. Thought it was concept art at first lol

I gotta say Mathew Libatique's photography here is far superior to either Iron Mans and almost on par with his works with Aronofsky. No offense to Stark heads. I remain positively intrigued how the Wolverine will look in comparison to origins. The photography was the only decent thing about that movie.

Regarding Cowboys and Aliens and tone, here's an interesting article, in the New York Times of all places:

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/30/movies/30cowboys.html

At least the studio understands they've got their work cut out for them in terms of the general public's preconceptions. I think it's exciting that there's a big summer blockbuster coming that isn't totally by the numbers.

Now my dad, when he saw the trailer and title, loved it. He just kept saying, "we gotta see this man." We are just conditioned to find some stuff funny I guess. I think the Spielberg credit during the trailer may have prepared some for it.

they didnt make it orange/blue

halleluhaj !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks pretty cool

Does have a weird Freddy Kruger vibe to it.

I hate trailers that reveal a lot of the movie...but it's almost impossible to avoid spoilers nowadays. :(

You have to seek spoilers. If you do, don't blame anyone but yourself. But on another note, I'm just glad they didn't spill their guts with this trailer.

This movie is looking good.
It did what a first trailer should do. Which is get you curious without telling the whole story. Favreau said they basically just used footage from the first act. He was glad that the marketing team made a trailer that reflects the movie.

I think we've all seen a trailer that sold a movie as one thing then when we showed up realized that the trailer had misrepresented the movie.

Looking forward to this film!! I just hope it doesn't add to spoiling what looks like a good movie worthy of attention itself in Captain America.

Cap IMO should move back 3 weeks to Aug. 12th giving it 2 weeks between itself and C&A. There's pretty much no more competition after than because Conan sure doesn't look to be making any real waves.

Jon Favreau tweeted this.

Yes. We're cutting it now. RT @AustinCFilms: superbowl trailer for Cowboys & Aliens?

That's great!
