Activision Reportedly Developing New Crash Bandicoot Game

Crash Bandicoot could be making his return in a new game developed by Activision.

"Heard from a good Acti connection that Activision does have a new Crash game coming," Twitter user Sabi posted. "And no, not specifically that 4chan leak that included World. Can’t deconfirm World, just know that’s not what I’m talking about. Vicarious seems to be it, but can’t be 100% on that part."

I hope they make another one. What would you like to see in a new crash game?

This is my most awaited game of all time maybe. a serious Crash Bandicoot sequel. I just hope they don't get carried off with any lame gimmicks

Yeah it’ll be interesting to see if it’s open world or sort of side scrolling

I’ve always been a fan of Crash. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

It's finally coming! A true sucessor to Warped and it looks amazing!

“It's not just Crash 4 because narratively we're continuing off of where Crash 3 ended, where, Uka Uka, N. Tropy, and Neo Cortex are trapped in time and space. But we're also continuing off of the gameplay of the original trilogy,” Studdert said. “It's actually going back and looking at what worked so well about the original games. It's bringing back that authentic, wholly unique to Crash gameplay, which is the unique perspective shifts of going into camera, being chased by things running out of camera switching to side scrolling.”

“It's been this fun balancing act of us taking what we love about those original games and the feeling of those linear pathways, but then at the same time layering in new challenging asks for the players, new ways of finding all of the boxes, crates, finding hidden gems, finding all this different content throughout the level”

“While we are retaining the old-school gameplay of those unique perspectives, we wanted to open up the worlds from a visual standpoint,” Studdert said. “So that means larger vistas, huge scale, huge places that you're going to get to go that couldn't have happened on the original consoles and games. It's taking that animated personality amplifying that fun, and then also giving you these amazing unique times and dimensions to explore.”

Same day as Star Wars: Squadrons

Looks cute! I’ll wait for the reviews but it’s giving me donkey Kong tropical freeze vibes

I hope this has Koala Kong and Pinstripe. They haven't been bosses in a Crash platformer since the original(not counting the N.Sane Trilogy version).

Looks great! This and CTR: Nitro Fueled are two next-gen titles I'm really excited to play. I'm gonna have to get a Ps4 (once the price does down a little)

Getting pretty excited about this. Been such a long time since I played a Crash game.

The first Crash Bandicoot game is still harder to beat than lots of contemporary games. Only remembered how hard it was when I got the remaster.

picked it up today for cheap (gift cards for the win!).

Dave above you says he did.

have not played it yet I only saw clips of it online and saw it had good scores from various review sites etc.

Are the visuals impressive?

FINALLY got the chance to play this game I love it but it does NOT mess around it is a tough game but as long as you are patient and take your time at points it gets a TAD easier. visually it is a good looking game with great visuals and details like stuff in the background and all around you. if you like the OG Crash games you will love this game.

It seems like the developers really went out of their way to make the game pretty difficult. Several levels are just way too long in length. Some have way too many boxes and some of the boxes are located in areas that are barely noticeable or you can't see at all. I tend to go out of my way to find all of them and it always makes levels that are already pretty difficult way more stressful. The amount of times I have went through a long level and found out I am missing a handful of boxes is ludicrous.

There's so much trial and error especially on the rail grinding sections.
