global warming is a farce created by the liberal media to try and embarass g.w. and his boys.

I kinda hope global warming is true, I won't have to drive so far to the beach.

Atlanta is going to be a lot closer to the coast too - nice.

Sucks about Savannah though. :(

Kinda cool here at the moment... looks like that global warming will be a pain

It's 77 degrees outside and it's 1:33 AM.

Last week I had a 2 hour drive to get home w/no air conditioner. So I waited till 11:30pm and the temp outside was still at 96... :ghost:

I had to wait till early Friday morning for the car to cool down enough for me to drive back for work...:(

and your acting like chicken little.

so conservatives hid their head in the sand during WWII?

lol
Millions of people were getting killed in concentration camps, but that got no reaction. It wasn't until Pearl Harbor that we got involved.
= Burrying your head in the sand

Also, it doesn't change the fact that conservative's today arepretending Global Warming isn't real.

How can you explain the US being the only modern country who hasn't passed Kyoto? How dod you explain that the US cities that support Kyoto are notoriousley on the left?

or that the scientific community has embraced global warming as reality?

That was on an entirely different continent. The camps were in the middle of enemy territory, most closer to the other front. We were coming off of a bad depression. That's not the sort of situation that lends itself to entering a war. When a threat was posed to us we kind of had to fight them, and their allies.

How is it not ok to get involved in that war, but getting involved in Iraq is?

I didn't say it wasn't okay to get into WWII, and that it was in Iraq . I was just saying there was more to our early involvement in WWII than just "conservatives with their head in the sand".

This doesn't make any sense, it was FDR who was president during WWII, a Democrat:confused:

I am going to buy up gobs of property here in Kansas so that I can sell it for egregious amounts of money when the coastal states go under water.

On second thought the government would probably seize my land under eminent domain to build some projects.

On the subject of global warming...who cares? It seems a little egocentric to me. Perhaps this is the earth's way of cleansing itself. Maybe we are supposed to die off like the dinosaurs. Perhaps millions of years from now an advanced civilization will be studying my skeleton in a museum and wonder "were all their heads that large?"

Just trying to lighten it up a little in here...

By the way it was about 99 when I went out a while ago...whew

Man-Thing brought up WWII not me.

I'm just sayin that Conservatives are burying their heads in the sand in this issue. They are known for not being progressive. It's up to us to get things done.

They've switched roles over the years. When they first rose to power, circa Lincoln's presidency, Republicans were radical, and (at least Southern) Democrats entrenched and didn't like change.

It was in the late 70s and 80s that the Republicans really became affilitated with the "Religious Right", and conservative.

...Not really:confused:

The change happened a hell of a lot earlier than the '70s.

We can trace Consrvative's being bible thumpers waaaaay waaaay back. Now, when they becasme the hate and blame party, is a good question.

I was talking about the Republican Party. Religious Conservatives have certainly been around for a while.

Say in the 50s, for example, Eisenhower wasn't going out of his way to support religious groups the way the party does now.

But he was conservative.

Although, some of the things he said were so liberal that I think the Democratic party of today would question making him a candidate.

I'd gladly trade Nixon for Dwight D. Eisenhower.
