I wasn't holding my breath for it, but Gunn keeps saying in interviews that it's chugging along.

I'd rather they just focus on getting WW on screen first but I guess those don't need to be mutually exclusive.

They could definitely do a better job of clarifying if that Dynamic Duo movie is part of the DCU or not, I’m leaning towards no, but there’s been so much conflicting information about it

Gunn made a big stink about Elseworlds vs. DCU when he was first announced as the man in charge but outside of the Reeves universe (for now), I wonder if we actually get anything that's Elseworlds...

In any case, Man of Tomorrow will obviously be in the DCU

This is quite brilliant.
Gunn basically pitched this movie in Corenswet's ending monologue.
"That is being human and that's my greatest strenght. And I hope (...) you'll understand that is yours too".

He probably saw the chemistry between Hoult and Corenswet, and it's not a coincidence he decided to make the Superman's second front-runner play Lex: they are a mirror to each other.
So I definitely see this movie as a team-up against a bigger enemy.

Plus, it's a good way to create an alternative to Marvel and DCEU.


PS: "Man of tomorrow" should have been a great title for a MOS sequel. All the codex-thing could have created a great arc for Supes. Snyder should had calm down and be patient. But it's gone.

No one guessed a Superman/Lex Luthor team up.

Always fun when the hero and his villain are forced into an alliance. Corenswet and Hoult are so good together. I still can't believe were getting this in 2027. Gunn is by far the most prolific creator in this genre. It's insane.

I’ll be honest, there was a part of me hoping for a world‘s finest movie, but I think this is much better for Superman as the flagship character in this universe.

Give him and his orbiting side characters/villains a few movies to build up some goodwill with the audience before really diving into the big universe connecting stuff

It's not him. He initially asked David S. Goyer to pen a treatment for MoS 2. But WB wanted desperately to catch up with the MCU.

I'm in the same boat. A Superman/Lex team-up is a much better path for avoiding the obvious parallels that a World's Finest movie would draw to BvS.

Brainiac seems like such a natural fit as the big bad for this movie. The unrelenting cosmic force that causes Superman to team with someone like Lex.... fingers crossed. I could see Lex using those circumstances to generate goodwill towards a potential presidency...

The threat has to be Braniac. It's the only thing that could bring these two together. He's SO long overdue. Hopefully Supergirl will feature prominently too. I'm guessing the Justice Gang will be back as well.

What’s cool is that Superman ‘25 is *basically* Justice League International year zero. Man of Tomorrow might be the next step in this. When Justice League proper gets here it’ll feel very natural.

Although the film will continue their rivalry and feature Lex as an antagonist, rumors suggest they will also join forces as well. Although unverified, sources also tell NPN, that Supergirl (Milly Alcock), Lobo (Jason Momoa), and Peacemaker (John Cena) will have roles in the film as well.

Also, remember that Wonder Woman is being fast tracked. And if Supergirl is a hit, she might get a sequel or follow-up of her own. We also may have more seasons of Lanterns and Peacemaker by 2027-2028.

But seriously, I was not expecting a Superman and Lex team up movie. I could definitely see Braniac as the big bad that would warrant a reluctant team up between Supes and Lex.

But definitely don't want Lex to be the main character. I'm selfish. I still want Superman to be the lead.

I read that this is an old quote. Supposedly Gunn has made follow up comments since stating he was working on a Superman sequel.

I think this is for all intents and purposes, Superman 2.
