Animation Dan Trachtenberg’s animated Predator: Killer of Killers

Wow I somehow completely missed this one getting made but it looks awesome.

Between this, Badlands and Alien:Earth we are really eating good this year as fans of these franchises.

I don't love the animation either but this concept is just too cool to pass up.

Oh **** yes this looks incredible. Loving the designs of the new predators and the action looks awesome. And this concept is something fans have been wanting for a long time so it’s great to see it finally come to fruition. Between this, Prey, and Badlands, Trachtenberg seems to be on a roll .

I love the concept and ideas with the anthology and the different time periods. But I just can’t get into the animation unfortunately. Hope others enjoy it though.
Frame rate messes with your astigmatism, right? You mentioned that in a post sometime back.

When asked if there were more ideas for animated movies, the filmmaker confirmed, “Certainly. I’m sure you guys see a cool movie and [say], ‘Oh, wouldn’t it be cool if…?’ That [thinking] doesn’t turn off for me. So there’s tons of cool things. We’ll see if we get to make it. People have to like it. But it certainly wasn’t made … I guess the thing that we’re always trying to say is it’s not made [to feel] like it’s just Act One of something larger. I think that’s what we all mean when we say … Christopher Nolan would always say to make it as if it’s the only one. It’s really because you don’t want to feel like you were shortchanged by the experience and it was incomplete. These are very much, for me, I won’t sleep at night if I don’t feel like I really communicated with exactly all that I wanted to with both of these movies. So we’re really throwing all our hearts out there.”

Damn, this looks better and better the more you see. I can tell the Japanese setting is going to be something special already but looking forward to all of it.

:wow:

Really curious to see what the ending means. I’m also really glad that Trachtenberg is showcasing more variety in the designs of the different predators and that they all look badass. Makes sense that if there’s a whole planet of them, they will have adaptations to different environments.

Still holding out hope for a Predator movie that takes place in America in the 1860's, particularly on a battlefield in a small town in Southern Pennsylvania known as Gettysburg.

Great movie, other than the choppy frame rate issue. It finally makes Yautja canon. It expands the mythology of the Yautja species in an organic way, and not using The Predator garbage.

They're a warrior culture, and their entire culture is built upon the hunt, strength, and survival of the fittest. They're an advanced species that has conquered the stars and likely FTL travel. Why the frell would they need human spinal fluid? It's dumb as frell.

I had no idea this existed until about 10 minutes ago. It looks DOPE! It looks like Assassin’s Creed with Predators. Which pretty much sounds like the most fun thing ever. Inject this right into my veins.

If the framerate was an entirely intentional artistic choice on the filmmaker’s part, that’s less of an issue and more of a personal qualm.

Then it's a personal qualm. Star Wars Rebels and Clone Wars don't have this issue with the CG animation. Arcane doesn't have this issue. It's CG animation. It should look and move fluidly.
