Daredevil Daredevil season 1 and 2 DVD

Have TV Blu-ray or DVD sales gotten so bad that Studios no longer want to release them anymore?

I'm just not understanding why we can't get them for Marvel Netflix.
house of cards and orange is the new black get black all have blu ray releases, so i don't know what the deal is honestly

and wtf with them giving the go-ahead with dvd releases and not blu-ray! :cmad:

If there is a deal that requires a certain wait period before Marvel can release them, then I understand the wait. What I don't get is why Agents of SHIELD season 3 and Agent Carter season 2 haven't hit blu ray, nor been announced. In the case of Agents of SHIELD, the new season started already!

Because DVD sales are dipping and with the low ratings for both AoS and Agent Carter, they might think they won't get the money back from the dvd sales.

I get that, but for us people who prefer having hard copies of things, it sucks. I personally don't like digital copies just because a lot can happen to your hard drive, but a disc will always work if it is in good condition

Agreed, I will always stick to hard copies no matter what.

Yeah I'm going to holdout for the Blu Ray. Them releasing it on dvd is a start though.

Woops. I wasn't paying attention and thought I was ordering a Blu Ray. Oh well, I'll save some money I guess so their loss.

yeah I hope a US version of the Daredevil Blu-ray is released soon... the UK version doesn't ship to my country!

And I get that but if they could make enough money off of the "fans" buying it, they'd be produced right now. I could see them doing an on demand Amazon pressing for the ABC shows but the quality isn't great on those.

iZombie and Preacher had lower ratings than any season of SHIELD and they're both on DVD/Blu Ray.

I feel like Marvel just has different priorities, I guess.

The pricing on all their TV show Blu Ray sets, especially in the US, are outrageous compared to their DC counterparts. That could be a big reason nobody is buying the stuff that is available (SHIELD seasons 1-2, Carter season 1).

Agreed. Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter are way overpriced

I think the lack of Dvd/Blu Ray options for the Netflix shows has everything to do with attracting subscribers to the service who desperately want to view Marvel content. That's the "strategy".

The ABC shows have never had a large fan base so perhaps they figure they can milk the die hard fans for as much as possible. A cynical outlook but the only one that makes sense to me.

Amazon prices for DC show seasons on Blu Ray
Flash Season 1 (23 episodes): $21.73
Flash Season 2 (23 episodes): $34.99
Arrow Season 1 (23 episodes): $18.24
Arrow Season 2 (23 episodes): $12.36
Arrow Season 3 (23 episodes): $20.75
Arrow Season 4 (23 episodes): $32.91
Legends of Tomorrow Season 1 (16 episodes): $29.80
Gotham Season 1 (22 episodes): $18.98
Gotham Season 2 (22 episodes): $39.80
Supergirl Season 1 (20 episodes): $39.96
iZombie Season 1 (13 episodes): $34.99*
iZombie Season 2 (19 episodes): $34.99*
Lucifer Season 1 (13 episodes): $34.99*
Constantine Season 1 (13 episodes: $34.99)*

*manufactured on demand by Warner Archive

versus the Marvel shows
Agent Carter Season 1 (8 episodes): $35.99
Agents of SHIELD Season 1 (22 episodes): $47.78
Agents of SHIELD Season 2 (22 episodes): $68.49

the value proposition is just so out of whack

That's more of a Disney thing than a Marvel thing since they control the pricing. They overcharge for the movies too, unless you buy them the first week they come out.

In retrospect, I decided I wanted the Blu Ray more, so I cancelled the American Amazon DVD and ordered the UK Amazon Blu Ray. Maybe if they talk to each other, they'll see why it would be a good idea to offer the Blu Ray.

With Netflix the concern is that they could decide to take the show down at some point.

I picked The Flash and Arrow season sets for $15 each right at Target a few months ago.

It's really amazing that every currently running DC show has its most recent season on Blu Ray already, while Marvel fans are still waiting for Daredevil S2, Jessica Jones S1, Agent Carter S2, and SHIELD S3.

It's not a huge concern for me because I don't like either show, but you can't even import the much cheaper UK versions of Carter S1 or SHIELD S1&2 because they're region locked. Carter S2 and Daredevil S1 are at least region free over there.

I already pre-ordered my copy off of amazon.

May get it for the holidays since still need to pick up the likes of Deadpool, Apocalypse, Civil War, and later Suicide Squad to re-watch. And can't wait for Season 2 to be released in 2019.

I kid, but you never know.

Tempted to get the Blu from amazon.uk... just as I almost purchase...

I check here and see the DVD announcement...

For once the Hellion curse was a blessing...

But I still need my AC S2 and AoS S3!

So looks like we are finally getting Blu-rays. But they look pretty barebones for the most part. Better than nothing I suppose.
