Dark and gritty remakes are so done but which would you actually see?

I would love to see a blackfish inspired version of Free Willy where the orca gets revenge on those that imprisoned him.

Or Thomas the tank where a group of survivors have to survive on a death island entirely populated by sentient trains

In keeping with the season, I'd redo "Santa Claus Conquers The Martians" as a Carpenter-esque sci-fi/horror/actioner about a suicidal department-store Santa whose plan to blow his brains out on Christmas Eve gets waylaid when he's forced to rescue neighborhood locals from the mutagen-spewing spider-crab-like things carried into NYC on a meteor shower.

Heck, I'm not sure I'd even keep the title - in keeping with the Carpenter vibe I'd probably call it either "Assault On 34th Street" or "Escape From 34th Street".

I would say Home Alone, but we already got that with Skyfall.

That actually sounds amazing. And the titles are great.

I've always wanted a dark, gritty, rated R, TMNT. Take the franchise back to it's original comic book roots.
