Hey im thinking of getting Dark Victory & Haunted Knight for X-mas but i don't know if their any good.
So please be so kind to post your opinions and reviews about them.

JJ

P.S: any other graphic novel that has a good story line and that's not year one or the killing joke ?

If you don't know, Dark Victory was the awesome sequel to The Long Halloween. Pick up The Long Halloween first, then Dark Victory. Haunted Knight are three one shots that don't follow the storyline of the two books so it doesn't matter if you pick it up first or last.

Dark Victory is really good, but like...Dark Victory said, you should read The Long Halloween first, if you haven't. Haunted Knight is okay, but nothing special. As for others...

The Dark Knight Returns
Hush
Broken City
The Man Who Laughs

Yeah I own TLH,and quite a lot of people have been referencing the robin story line for batman 3

Mee ,I've read the dark knight returns, they told me that in Hush the drawing was awesome but the whole Hush thing was just about a winging boy that wants money,so i don't no if should get it.

Thanks for the opinions.

Opinions on Hush are fairly mixed, but I (and I think the majority) thought it was solid.

Dark Victory is good, but u do need The Long Holloween with it. As for Haunted Knight, it was okay nothing special

As I said earlier I own and have read Long halloween.
So... what is haunted knight about??Just for further information and if it's worth buying.

Jack

P.S:anybody could tell me about robin year one pt. 4 of 4 ?It's just that I didn't find it where I got the other 3 parts.

You really should get Dark Victory. Best telling of Robin's origin, IMO.
haunted Knight is good, but nothing special. It's three one shots, the ifrst with Scarecrow as the villain and Bruce is involved with a mysterious woman, the seocnd has Mad Hatter and a young Barbara Gordon, and the third is a Bat-version of 'A Christmas Carol.'

Robin: Year One is great, and fits in nicely after Dark Victory. Get the TPB if possible.

You also get to read one of Two-Face's most bad-ass moments ever.

Read Long Halloween and you'll know if you're gonna like Dark Victory or not. Hush you'll probably end up buying sooner or later, regrettably. Skip Haunted Knight there's a easily two dozen Batman comics better than that. Loeb's very overated you'll eventually find out

Ok so Haunted Knight has nothing to do with DV or TLH.
I love the attitude of two-face in robin year one, you can really see that he loves things that goes in pairs.
Is it knightfall where bane breaks batsy's back?
Another question is No Man's Land good ?

JJack

No Mans Land is five volumes. Are you really gonna buy all five? If not which one should you choose? That's the main problem with No Mans Land.

Batman is crippled in the final pages of Knightfall Vol1. The entire trade is Batman fighting other villains and getting tired while Bane struts around and yells. Azbats demolishes Bane at the end of Vol.2. that's probably the better one. I bought vol.1 and I've yet to read the whole thing, I always find better things to do after like 10 minutes

So there not worth buying...
But Hush comes in volumes as well.
Nightwing year one: worth buying??

I think they are. I thought No Man's Land was very good. Especially the final volume when the Joker makes his move.

Knightfall is good, too.

But Hush comes in volumes as well.

Only two volumes. No Man's Land is five volumes.

Ok thanks. What about a death in the family, does it come in volumes??
The only thing in volumes is that the comic shop i normally go that the only have some volumes so that's why I'm asking.

A Death in the Family is all in the one trade paperback. So if they have that, then you've got the whole story.

Paperback... not my style shame its not in hardcover.
But i think i'll buy it just because of the story line & because it's one of the most important one in the batman series.

Another thing in how many parts is infinite crisis divided in ?

JJ

You should get the sequels (Monster Men & Mad Monk)to Year One. They're done by Matt Wagner, and they are GOOD.

Mmm..
Isn't mad monk an old comic of Batman ?
Ok i'll have a look at them thanks.
Someone recommended me Batman: duality, is it any good?

Mad Monk is an old villain of Batman, but Matt Wagner took that character, along with Hugo Strange's first appearance in Batman comics and updated them, making them sequels to Batman: Year One. And they're AWESOME. There's also a Matt Wagner Batman book called "FACES", which is great, too.

Knightfall is a good story, too. and No Man's Land has some of the best characterization ever. Pick up Vol. 1 and see if you like it, and go from there.

Dark Victory is great. Haunted Knight is a step below it.

For someone who can only buy one, maybe two, novels a month is it even worth buying Haunted Knight?

hey I've made my decision I'm going to buy DV,but.... I'm still Craving for another graphic novel ( I prefer ones in only 1 volume) Even more ideas ?
