I hear what everyone is saying about seeing Darkseid in a Justice League movie, but as was said, at best, we probably only have a 30% chance of seeing said movie within the current generation of Superhero films. By the time we get one, the franchises will probably have already gone through another restart.
Also, in regards to the suggestion of a New Gods film, its not a bad idea, but the chances of it happening are equally slim.

Superman is beneath Darkseid. As would be apearing in a Superman film as the villain.
Actually, thats exactly why I want Darkseid in the first place. One of the biggest complaints you tend to here about Superman is that hes too powerful. People, understandably so, tend to think that the only way anyone can actually fight Superman is with Kryptonite. Its time people get a villain who not only can stand on par with Superman at his full strength, but who also can, in fact, swat him aside like an annoyance.

Personally I see Darkseid played by M. Ironside only.
If were talking animated voice acting roles then HELL YES! Just like Kevin Conroy as Batman, there is simply no substitute. That said, Ironside just wouldnt work well in a live action film.
For one, hes pushing 60, and this role will be very physically demanding since it will require long hours in heavy makeup, very similar to what was done with Ron Perlman as Hellboy, or Michael Chiklis as the thing (unless of course they go the CGI route which is a BAD IDEA).
For two, he lacks the needed physical presence to portray Darkseid. At 510 he would be easily dwarfed by Rouths 64 frame and that simply wouldnt do.

I think he has better chance to appear in Smallville than in Superman or Wonderwoman. Then again people are going to complain about Smallville .....
Ill leave my thoughts on the shows quality aside for now.
Superman is already beneath Darkseid as it is, Clark Kent from Smallville isnt even a blip on his radar. Were they to meet, he would quite literally snap him like a toothpick, no questions asked.
