Darthphere's House of Style: From Geek to Chic.

I once got a cologne from BR as a gift....it literally smelled like piss. :cmad:

Just go to a thrift store like the rest of the hipsters. :oldrazz:

oh dude, I am so far ahead of you. I'm on first name basis with most of the thrift places in my area, and the value village :funny:

Banana makes me want to cry...I despise work clothes.

But the Mad Men line is pretty fun. Especially for guys, who I imagine have a harder time finding actual vintage suits. I can find vintage sixties dresses every once and a while.

Haha, I never shopped at BR until I got an office job. Now, I've gotta give them props...I can always find clothing that is true to size, and they're great for office basics.

I nominee Dress Barn for cute work clothes. They don't just design for old ladies anymore.

BR is just kinda ''there'' clothes if you know what I mean. Its hard to explain.

Anyways, I am in love with Zara. That is all.

Went on a shopping trip today and had to restrain myself because it was one of those times where I loved EVERYTHING. Two favorite pieces that I got:

The belt around the middle is an addition for the picture...it has a cinched waist already and actually looks better without the belt.

Comfy comfy basic jeans!

Express has buy one get one 50% off! But I didn't really find a second pair I was dying to have, because I was looking for a dark denim and a pure black denim. Didn't find the black :csad: If you needs jeans, it's definitely a good deal to get two pairs, though. I like that their jeans come in "long" sizes

yeah i want to get some new jeans soon but i'm trying to wait a bit until i get more into my workout. i'm kinda in between two sizes and i want to get to that smaller one before i buy more jeans. last time i bought a pair, which wasn't too long ago, they fit good for a lil while and then i dropped that size and now they're too big.

Aw, I'd definitely wait, then. It's so important for any kind of pants to fit well! The waist on the ones I bought today is slightly too big, but I had to get one that would fit my rear and thighs, too. Jeans can be a pain! And I say this as a nicely proportioned woman...I can't even imagine what more...erm...big-boned ladies go through lol.

that's why you see so many muffin tops in the world :/

Well, as one, it can suck. Layne Bryant came out with these jeans that were supposed to be by body type, but it was a bunch of crap. It takes a long time to find jeans that fit. For me, I have to go one size bigger than what is my dress size, because my hips are much wider than my waist. The downside to that is I get that "open flap" at my smaller back. :o But the plus side [har har!] is that once I DO find jeans that fit, I damn near buy out the stock, because it only happens once a year, if that.

Bra's are the worst though. I don't even want to think about it.

Unfortunately, this is because most bigger women don't know how to dress themselves.

Especially if you're on the bigger side, you have to be 3 times more careful as to what you wear, and how you wear it. Like I said before, I tend to buy one size larger and get a belt than go for the "smaller" size and have a muffin top [also, belts are cute and accessorize nicely. And I may or may not have a thing for belt buckles. >.> ]. And also, ladies... just because you're bigger and thus have bigger breasts, it doesn't mean you should be wearing very tight knit tops. On occasion, it's fine so long as your jeans actually fit [which, let's face it... rarely happens]. But what makes a muffintopper worse is that tight V-neck knit top that just leaves nothing to the imagination... and I AM a bigger person, and I can say this. No one want's to see that.

Hey ladies
[blackout]Get funky! *cowbell* [/Beastie Boys][/blackout]

I need some help. I'm trying to find a gift for my little sister, but she's 12 now and toys just don't cut it anymore. Someone told me to try buying her an outfit. Thing is, I don't know what the hell to buy her.

Does anyone have any suggestions on something nice to buy? She's about 5'5" and as slim as a beanpole. Thankfully, she's not the type of kid who tries to dress too "grown up" or anything. I don't want to get her something too bland like jeans and a pink shirt, though.

I do not recommend buying something for her without her being there. 12 is a picky age - take her with you. Maybe just so you can physically give her something, make a little gift certificate saying something sweet about a "shopping trip with your big bro!", etc.

Buy her the exact same clothes that Willow Smith wears in her video and then dance with her. You'll be everyone's hero.

Yeah, that's probably for the better. I can't even peg her fashion style.

If I do that, I'll also need to buy a wig to whip.

Hollister or Abercrombie hoodie with a gift reciept. Tweens can't get enough of that store, at least where I'm from.

What's your favorite clothing brand? (Limited to 3 because I know someone will ***** about not being able to choose one.)

Hmmm, not really into brands as such, I like comic book/film t-shirts.
Also got into cons this past year.

When designing an outfit for a night on the town, what do you focus on first? (i.e. shoes, shirt, jacket, jeans/pants)

Always shirt and tie.

How would you define your style? Hybrid answers are welcome.

Causal. T-shirt(has to be comic or film), jeans, cons and if it's cold, checkered shirt or hoodie.

Your favorite article of clothing?

Flash t-shirt:o

Your least favorite article of clothing?

Ghostbusters t-shirt, the color is worn out.

Your favorite accessory? (This could also include any tech like a cellphone)

My glasses.

Ok, this thread has been dead for far too long so lets get it to 1,000 posts already for a Thread Manager make over. Spring is right around the corner. Time to dust off the bermuda shorts and button down Tommy Bahama shirts.
