IRON MAN: LEGACY OF DOOM #1 (of 4)
Written by DAVID MICHELINIE
Art & Cover by RON LIM & bob layton
"A Knight in Hell" Dr. Doom returns to menace Iron Man in the chilling and long-awaited conclusion of The Camelot Trilogy! Mephisto has apparently found a way to bring about The End Of Days and Tony Stark and Victor Von Doom must form an uneasy alliance to try and stop him. But all may not be as it seems. And it takes a journey to Hell itself before the shocking truth is revealed! Iron Man legends David Michelinie and Bob Layton are joined by penciler supreme Ron Lim to bring you the first part of an epic literally decades in the making!
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$2.99
David Michelinie (who also wrote the best non Stan Lee Spider-Man, a strong Avengers, and the two best original graphic novels, Revenge of the Living Monolith and Emperor Doom!), along with Bob Layton, did the two defining runs on the Iron-Man series. They really deserve an Omnibus and/or Visionaries.
The last time they got together for a 4 parter, it was a decent story, but I didn't feel Bob Layton, who is the most amazing inker to ever grace the pages of Iron-Man, did a very good job on pencils. His pencils also weakened the latter half of Dave and Bob's 2nd IM run. With Ron Lim on pencils, it should be solid enough, even though he's nowhere near the penciler he was when he was drawing Captain America. With Layton, though, it could be Lim's best looking stuff ever!
