I saw the trailer and now I'm even more excited about the film. I didn't know Andrew Garfield is in the movie. This will give me a chance to see his acting skills (though I have heard that he is a brilliant actor). The song used in the trailer was great too.

This trailer is getting better and better for me. Loved the choice of music. And the cinematography looks very Fincher. Even if it's a movie about Facebook. This looks great.

And Prison Mike, you need to watch Boy A. Garfield is outstanding in it. Along with Levitt, those two have to be the best young actors working today. He'll yank out your soul in Boy A.

When the trailer started I was worried Sony was going to advertise it simply as a "Facebook movie", but I was relieved when it didn't turn out to be the case. Looks like an atmospheric and moody, extremely well-written and acted film. I'll be there opening day. Most anticipated movie of the year behind Inception and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

Finally got around to checking this trailer out. Looks better than I thought it would but I sometimes get sick of the overdramatization of what possibly happened in real life.

So from what I understand, the two guys who created Facebook get sued by two other guys who "claim" they made it?

I saw, what I'm guessing is the first full trailer for the movie. I"ll admit, when first hearing about the project, I kinda rolled my eyes at it. But after hearing about the cast and David Fincher it peaked my interest a bit more. I definately want to check it out in October. That trailer gave me more of what I could expect from the movie.

It seems like "Social Network" and that other movie "Middle Men" are really aiming for that darker side of true story successes. That's another one I suggest people to look up.

Really surprised by the trailer, the movie looks great. The shots look very Fincher and the acting seems be pretty top notch from the little that is shown but I heard its over 3 hours long. I don't know if I wanna sit in the theatre for 3 hours for a movie like this.

Yeah, interesting. Looks to have pretty good drama, and the choice of music along with the facebook images kinda seems like they are slightly critiquing facebook and what it means socially or just people's obsession with being popular and showing how cool your life really is, through facebook.

Yeah that's pretty much what I thought. Being that he created Facebook, he is suddenly being shunned and sued against for something he created. He was first an outsider, and he still is despite with the success.

Yes, and it also seems his best friend sues him because he co-created Facebook.

He actually wins the case I think. Savarin is credited as the co-creator.

I have to ask though, what exactly did you guys think when you heard that a movie about Facebook was being made? Why were people so dismissive? The story is actually pretty interesting. I guess what I don't get is that people get excited about some obscure graphic novel getting made into a movie...but when it's about something that actually happened, they roll their eyes.

Thanks for the comfirmation.

Personally I felt it was the kind of story that was better suited for a TV movie. In an earlier post I mention that it reminded me of the Bill Gates/Steve Jobs film they had on TV a few years back.

I have to admit after seeing the trailer i'm eating a bit of crow right now since I was ragging on the idea and how it was a waste of a film/time for a director like Fincher. Not sure if i'll see it in the theatre but it looks entertaining at the very least. Nice to see Eisenberg doing a more dramatic role, then again I still haven't seen Adventureland which looks part comedy and part drama but light on the drama I think.

Not to rock the boat since I know a number of you liked that cover but personally I think they somewhat butchered Radiohead's song. Maybe i'm exaggerating a bit but I think a lot of times these trailers are better off using the original version.

I rolled my eyes when I first heard about this film. I had no idea what happened with facebook and its legal problems and the drama. I just thought it would be cashing off of Facebook's popularity. When Fincher was attached I questioned why he would do it, but then again, there must have been something interesting for him to tackle.

There already seems to be a unique thing applied. Armie Hammer plays both twins who sue Zuckerberg. So greenscreen was used to make two of him. Very interesting. Something that goes beyond a film like this and it's something Fincher would do. The movie looks good, and if it gets me more interested, I'll see it.

Agreed, this was along my thoughts after viewing the trailer for the xth amount of time. I guess the use The Beautiful People would've been a bit uninspired...:oldrazz:

Also, I'm happy to say that a fair amount of my theater for the midnight showing of Inception cheered once the trailer ended.

They played this trailer in front of Inception?

I'll be seeing Inception in IMAX so no trailers I'm afraid. It kind of sucks. But oh, well, an IMAX is always nice to have.

Goddammit! I'm talking about Inception in another thread! I haven't been in that thread for a week and a half. I'm seeing it at 7 tonight. I have ordered my tickets. It's killing me!

If I saw this trailer in the theater, I would have jumped up and said, "The new Spider-Man is the dude who threw the computer!" :hehe:

I've never seen a movie where the audience cheered for a trailer or clapped at the end of the film.

I've never seen a crowd cheer for a trailer...but i've seen audiencs clap at the end of a film many many times.

I don't understand why people would cheer after a trailer...especially this one. I guess it goes back to what I was saying a few posts ago how the movie is based on something very popular not to mention it's got enough college drama to bring in the younger crowds still in High School...that's just my guess though.

To be honest if somebody cheered during a movie, I'd tell them to shut up. I want to listen to the movie, not hear someone's reaction to it...

I have to agree.

I'm a little perplexed by that too. I've seen audience cheers for Spiderman or Harry Potter trailers (Toy Story 3 got gasps and a "NO WAY!!!" from a sold-out showing of Up I saw last summer)...but a movie about Facebook? Even though the movie looks pretty good, I don't see it as cheer-worthy.

I just saw the trailer and it looks interesting though I don't know if by the title people will know what it's about instead of just calling it 'Facebook The Movie'.

This looks completely ******ed...Dont know why Fincher is doing this...The audience during Inception was laughing at this.

Some guy yelled "Tom's going to be pissed"

Trailer had good music though
