I think this will be a great movie. David O Russell may be one of the biggest ***** in Hollywood but he is also one of the most talented. I don't think I've ever seen a bad movie of his

Stop living in the past.
O. Russell is a different man these days. More calm, more mature. Certainly not a ***** (whatever that is meant to say).

And while it doesn't reach Black Swan proportions, Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence kiss in the film. :D
I was a little surprised when I read about the kiss. I'm sure that's going to be talked about more and more as the film gets closer to coming out.

I agree.

The Adams/Lawrence kiss will be the Portman/Kunis lesbian love scene of this film, the media will probably not shut up about it.

I'm not convinced that Russell isn't still kind of an a-hole, but I don't care. I love his movies, and unless he commits some sort of heinous crime or despicable act, I will continue to support them.

This sounds like it's less of a crowd-pleaser than his previous 2 films, which frankly, makes me MORE excited to see it, as that would put it more in line with his earlier work, imo.

Wow so many heavy hitters in this film looks interesting and a lot of Oscar buzz around it if I'm hearing correctly.

Oh Amy Adams and Jeniffer Lawrence kissing I'll take more of that please.:woot:

I'm sure Russell isn't a sweetheart but not very many people in Hollywood are. He seems to be in rehabilitation mode which is good. I don't think you are going to be getting anymore leaked videos of him acting like a maniac on set.

The new screenings seem to confirm what the earlier screening were saying regarding Lawrence stealing the show.

The kiss tidbit was a nice surprise! :funny:

Early reactions on social media talked of a standing ovation for Russell at the Santa Barbara Film Society screening on Sunday afternoon, and of scattered boos at a SAG Nominating Committee screening on the Sony lot that night.
Sounds like one will either love or hate this movie, no middle ground lol.

We have embargoes for another week, so we'll have to wait a bit more to start reading more reviews.

Yawn. Girls kissing. So passé. Show us something new. Bale and Cooper going at it is a start.

I've always known there was something up with the guy.

Is it true George Clooney wanted to punch him in the face?

From wikipedia:

In a 2000 interview, Clooney described his confrontation with Russell after tensions on the set had been steadily increasing. According to Clooney, Russell was demeaning the crew verbally and physically. Clooney felt this was out of line and told Russell, "David, it's a big day. But you can't shove, push or humiliate people who aren't allowed to defend themselves." After the confrontation escalated when, according to Sharon Waxman in "Rebels on the Backlot," Russell actually headbutted Clooney and Clooney grabbed Russell by the throat, Clooney said Russell eventually apologized and filming continued, but Clooney described the incident as "truly, without exception, the worst experience of my life." When asked if he would work with Russell again, Clooney responded, "Life's too short."[13] In early 2012, Clooney indicated that he and Russell had mended their relationship, saying "We made a really, really great film, and we had a really rough time together, but it's a case of both of us getting older. I really do appreciate the work he continues to do, and I think he appreciates what I'm trying to do.

Wow. Why the hell would you throw an extra to the ground?
Here's the quote of Clooney's version of it from his IMDB page (I've censored the language):
For me, it came to a head a couple of times. Once, he went after a camera-car driver who I knew from high school. I had nothing to do with his getting his job, but David began yelling and screaming at him and embarrassing him in front of everybody. I told him, "You can yell and scream and even fire him, but what you can't do is humiliate him in front of people. Not on my set, if I have any say about it". Another time, he screamed at the script supervisor and made her cry. I wrote him a letter and said, "Look, I don't know why you do this. You've written a brilliant script, and I think you're a good director. Let's not have a set like this. I don't like it and I don't work well like this". I'm not one of those actors who likes things in disarray. He read the letter and we started all over again. But later, we were three weeks behind schedule, which puts some pressure on you, and he was in a bad mood. These army kids, who were working as extras, were supposed to tackle us. There were three helicopters in the air and 300 extras on the set. It was a tense time, and a little dangerous, too. David wanted one of the extras to grab me and throw me down. This kid was a little nervous about it, and David walked up to him and grabbed him. He pushed him onto the ground. He kicked him and screamed, "Do you want to be in this f***ing movie? Then throw him to the f***ing ground!" The second assistant director came up and said, "You don't do that, David. You want them to do something, you tell me". David grabbed his walkie-talkie and threw it on the ground. He screamed, "Shut the f*** up! F*** you", and the AD goes, "F*** you! I quit". He walked off. It was a dangerous time. I'd sent him this letter. I was trying to make things work, so I went over and put my arm around him. I said, "David, it's a big day. But you can't shove, push or humiliate people who aren't allowed to defend themselves". He turned on me and said, "Why don't you just worry about your f****d-up act? You're being a d***. You want to hit me? You want to hit me? Come on, p***y, hit me". I'm looking at him like he's out of his mind. Then, he started banging me on the head with his head. He goes, "Hit me, you p***y. Hit me". Then, he got me by the throat and I went nuts. Waldo, my buddy, one of the boys, grabbed me by the waist to get me to let go of him. I had him by the throat. I was going to kill him. Kill him. Finally, he apologized, but I walked away. By then, the Warner Bros. guys were freaking out. David sort of pouted through the rest of the shoot and we finished the movie, but it was truly, without exception, the worst experience of my life.
