Different audiences though American Hustle isn't necessarily going for the The Hobbit crowd. It will do well but it's not going to make $600 million or anything.

I don't think they're expecting it to make a massive amount of money, but it's more a grab for acclaim for the cast and director. If it breaks even but gets good reviews, word of mouth is all it takes. After Out of the Furnace it's apparent that Bale alone does not guarantee money in the bank.

I think Hustle and Wolf will be fine. Same with with Coens Davis. There will be plenty of butts when it comes to great films during the Holidays. Plus Wolf and Hustle have the closest thing to bankable stars going. Also, it isn't like they need to make a huge killing to be successful financially.

They've also got Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper that's some heavy talent.

Lawrence isn't starring in this film so yeah I don't think it's a test of her star power. Also it's an awards contender. If she and others in the cast get an Oscar nom they are fine even if the movie doesn't quite reach Silver Linings levels. I don't think it's a big budget film so it's not like it needs to do an astronomical figure.

I like Bale. Fanboys seem so protective of him that it's fun to tease sometimes. Bale, Lawrence, Cooper and Adams all have hits outside of franchise pictures. They are all fine and will be fine.
