Leo+Scorsese = big box office numbers. I think both Wolf and Hustle will do well.

This has been out here since Thursday and I still haven't seen it. The wait is painful.

Rocket Raccoon killed me. :lmao:

Holy ****. This film is just incredible. It will surely be considered a classic. Probably my favorite film of the year at this point.

That makes me even more excited, buying my tickets for a Saturday night showing right now.

It's literally never boring because the pacing is so excellent. And if you go into the film unspoiled like I did, you'll never know what comes next. The movie defies expectations. What you think will happen...doesn't.

All of the performances here are pretty remarkable. I was really impressed by both Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence, but especially by Bale. He really is one of the greatest working actors in the industry.

I'm kind of afraid that one of these days, Bale fundamentally changing his body structure so quickly is going to cause serious health issues.

So I didn't love this film like everybody else. It felt like Russel with a bigger ego thinking he can do more, even to the extent of channeling Scorsese which he doesn't pull off. I mean there's always been that Scorsese influence but here it's pretty apparent.

It didn't hold my complete attention. Too much was going on for me in the intricacies of the plot felt tangled with the character development.

The performances were all great but I felt like there could have been more. I just wasn't that fulfilled.

Boo. This is what your post feels like to me:

Hot damn I loved this movie. Every performance was top-notch and the dialogue and the direction and the music were all just glorious. There was never a dull moment.

And not on ANY PLANET is Amy Adams a weak link in this film, imo. I was actually more impressed with her performance than Lawrence's, tbh. I think Adams, Lawrence and Bale were all worthy of Oscar nods here. If I had to choose a "weak link," that would just be the person who impressed me the least, which I guess would be Cooper or Renner, but honestly, every single person playing any kind of significant role in this movie was top notch.

And I think Louis C.K. should be officially declared a national treasure.

Probably my 2nd favorite of the year behind Gravity. 9.5/10.

Also...Amy Adams is super hot. I don't think she's ever looked better. Same goes for Lawrence.

This was so over the top I couldn't help but enjoy it. Practically everyone was a cartoon.

I absolutely loved it. Amy Adams was as beautiful as ever (though one exception was the scene when she had Diane Ross hair). And overall I think the movie was a damn good one. Loved the pacing of the film, the acting, the soundtrack. You couldn't help but like all of the characters.

Saw it this afternoon, it's basically a goofy version of Martin Scorcese's Casino. I think Casino is superior but I still really liked this movie a lot and Bale was great.

I really enjoyed it, lots of great performances all around and I thought Amy Adams stole the show more than Lawrence. As a big fan of Louie CK, I couldn't stop laughing in all of his scenes. lol

Also I didn't expect Jack Huston and Shea Whigham to be in this, that was a nice surprise.

Holy cow it's like DC VS Marvel on each side with a Raccoon in the middle

I really enjoyed the film it was witty, smart and amazingly well acted and of course very entertaining. I thought after Out of the Furnace that was Bales best performance but that may have changed now, still need more time to soak it in.

I give it a 9/10

I absolutely loved this. What a fantastic ensemble. It's frustrating that Bale gave not one but two Oscar worthy performances this year and he might not even get a nod for either. He was phenomenal here. He was funny, charismatic, loose, and very likable. He'll make you root for his character and hate everyone that gets on his way. He showed a lot of restraint and put on a lot of nuance to his performance. Adams is just as fantastic. You'd never seen her like this before. She and Bale had amazing chemistry. Jennifer was such a delight. I found her scenes with Bale as my favorite scenes. That bedroom scene had me dying from laughter! They had great dynamic and I definitely want to see them work together again. Renner should be getting more praise. Even with such a small role, he was better than Cooper IMO. Louis C.K. can do no wrong. It was a hoot to see that scene with De Niro especially with him and Bale eyeing one another.

I just saw it again and I honestly think Bale's is my favorite performance in the film. He's given so many great performances, many more "showy" than this, but I can't recall a time that I've ever found him to be truly...lovable. And despite Irving's many morally objectionable actions, I just couldn't help but love the guy.

And I agree with kvz5 that he and Amy Adams had some real chemistry going, which I find to be a rare thing with Bale. I remember thinking I they had it in The Fighter too, even though they didn't have a lot of scenes together in that one. I hope they work together again in the not-to-distant future. Russell can come too. :D
