Its only a matter of time. Where a director takes his favorite actors & actresses. Does a movie where each character is played by the same actors & actresses

"We are honored to be in Massachusetts with this amazing group of filmmakers and cast. This is Mr. Russell’s third picture here, after The Fighter and American Hustle, he loves the area, the people, the locations, the cast, the crew, and the Boston teamsters,” said Elizabeth Gabler, President of Fox 2000.

The film, from Fox 2000 Pictures and Davis Entertainment, in association with Annapurna Pictures, is produced by David O. Russell, John Davis, and Megan Ellison.

20th Century Fox releases JOY on December 25, 2015.

You checked out Russell. Have fun with your self indulgent actor's director movies. I'm not hoping it won't be less of a mess of a an awful film that American Hustle was. You've become too comfortable with what you have and this doesn't look any different.

As Patches O'Houlihan once said, "Bye, bye!"

This premise sounds very interesting but someone else should be directing this.

Good grief that's some cast.

One question where's Bale and Adams?:o

Seems like O' Russell is at it again.

Crappy source but the guy has previous with Clooney, Adams and Bale.

Famed director David O. Russell went on a tear against Jennifer Lawrence and Harvey Weinstein during the filming of the movie "Joy" ... this according to an eyewitness on the set.
We're told there was a loud argument Tuesday on the Boston set between David and Jennifer, and it started because she didn't like the way he was directing a scene. The eyewitness says the screaming was ear-piercing and laced with profanities.

. We're also told Miramax honcho Harvey Weinstein showed up on the set Wednesday to say hi to Jennifer, but David ordered him to leave. Harvey got as far as the makeup trailer before getting booted.
The studio rep says Harvey was told Tuesday things were moving at warp speed and his visit would be a distraction, but he showed up anyway ... unannounced.
And the eyewitness tells us a major exec for Fox was reamed out by David because she was trying to defend the line producer who David wants to fire. The eyewitness says it got so bad the exec started crying. The studio rep says that's ridiculous ... there was a "heated" argument over the line producer, but she didn't cry.

Boggles my mind how anyone likes this director. Most overrated, self-indulgent, okayest filmmaker out there.

2013 - American Hustle
2012 - Silver Linings Playbook
2010 - The Fighter
2004 - I Heart Huckabees
1999 - Three Kings
1996 - Flirting with Disaster

Really? He's one of our best directors?

I bet Weinstein leaked that to TMZ. :funny: If true (which it most likely is), I'm quite surprised Russell turned on his golden child. I can easily buy him being crap to his actors (even Bale and Adams) but not Lawrence.

Absolutely agree. Not only is he a f***ing ***hole but he's just a mediocre director. I can't believe he's even been nominated for Academy Awards. Such a joke.

He also looks like a *****e.

Bro I'd take out The Fighter and Three Kings and to a lesser extent American Hustle.

Yep.:funny:

This will probably be the last time Jen and this dude collaborate on a movie.

He's only actually been relevant for the past four or so years, and those three last films are half of his filmography, and we act like he's in the big leagues and is one of our top-tier directors.

I somewhat like Jennifer Lawrence, but I feel the same way about her too. Everyone acts like she's this untouchable royalty and is the modern Meryl Streep, and all I notice is that she's generally irritating in interviews and has had a lackluster career. She's been in like 10 movies, lol.

Winter's Bone
The Beaver
X-Men: First Class
The Hunger Games
Silver Linings Playbook
House at the End of the Street
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
American Hustle
X-Men: Days of Future Past
Serena
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1

^ Wow! I can't even comprehend the unfathomable talent!

Seems like O'Russell needs some anger management classes. Future directors, take note of how NOT to conduct yourself on a film set and directing someone.

Jen to the rescue! :funny:

Hey guys!
It's Jen! I know I don't go on here a lot because I can barely work email but there's been a terrible rumor going around the last 24 hours so I wanted to clear it up.
David O. Russell is one of my closest friends and we have an amazing collaborative working relationship. I adore this man and he does not deserve this tabloid malarkey. This movie is going great and I'm having a blast making it!

Yeah... you think Harvey Weinstein is gonna take **** from Russell? Weinstein would eat him if he dared raise his voice.

Bah she lies.:o

I want tabloid journalism damn it.

I would've been more satisfied if she was like "Yes, the rumors are true! This guy is an ass but I showed him and kicked his ass!" :oldrazz:

Yeah... you think Harvey Weinstein is gonna take **** from Russell? Weinstein would eat him if he dared raise his voice.

I've heard that O'Russel is a raging *******, so it surprises me that he can attract talent (ANY talent) to begin with.

I loved The Fighter and Silver Linings Playbook, though.

Three Kings remains my favorite from him. LOVE that movie. But yeah, it seems pretty clear he's a total a-hole IRL. That video of him and Lily Tomlin was appalling. And when George Clooney of all people wants to punch you in the face if he ever sees you again, you know you've got issues.

Seen three of his films: loved Silver Linings Playbook, liked The Fighter and disliked American Hustle.

I don't hold him either high or low as a director. More like I'm cautiously interested in his coming projects.

Another sign of the Oscars have gone to ****.

I just watched it for the first time. I don't care if the actor is wrong or not, a director does not act like that on set or treat an actor like that. I get even if you're having a bad day or you're angry, you're still the director.

My dislike for some of his films aside, this goes for anyone.
