I have an embarrassing admission....

I didn't get into the Planet of the Apes franchise until Rise :csad:.

I thought they looked too silly and never watched them. I saw the Burton film , but wasn't that into it. After Rise I went back and watched the original film and loved it. I've yet to watch the sequels though.

Some theaters are doing a RISE/DAWN double feature. I'll be there for that.

That scene is as scary as ****.

I went from laughing at Koba throwing back a drink to.........."wow that escalated".

Someone should make a gif of Koba drinking the liquor And spitting it out.

That is a truly excellent scene. It was already the standout scene in the trailer to me, even edited down as it was, and it's even more effective in its entirety.

I'm concerned people don't realize how lucky we are to have a movie with Gary Oldman shooting a bazooka while an ape rides a horse armed with 2 guns.

i meant directing,score,lighting,acting,...

I know the series has had people in ape costume before with weapons but there's something inherently more frightening about seeing a proper looking ape firing a gun. Even though it's fiction the difference is we can see an animal like that at a local zoo. Zombies, aliens, monsters, mutants, all of that I can watch knowing it's fantasy because it's all make believe, but an ape is real and even though it's CG it captures what we all know and see in apes, it's a more tangible threat because the creature we're seeing is based on something that actually exists. Seeing an ape with gun is honestly very unnerving.

I've seen all the POTA flicks, love all except the Burton one and Battle For which was kinda weak.

Most watched have been the original and Conquest.

I have a terrible feeling that

Koba may kill Caesar and Caesar's son will take over as king and kill Koba.

Am I the only one who finds this scene kind of terrifying?

Not alone

I'm deliberately avoiding this preview, but I'm glad that a lot of posters I respect are loving the preview, it makes me more excited for the movie.

That scene was terrifying, humanity is doomed.
