I think these apes look as photorealistic as, if not more so than, the navi. Not always, but then again I don't think the navi always look photorealistic. But your mileage may very. Cameron is the supreme perfectionist in Hollywood. Tech and detail is his MO. That was the special ingredient. Cameron himself.

Yeah, that's what I meant with my first post. That I wished the apes looked as photorealistic as the navi did since that is the pinnacle of realistic cgi in cinema. Not that's something wrong with them as they are now.

The Na'vi looked great towards the end of the film once they get covered in dirt, makeup and dust. Before that they are far too smooth and dolphin-skinned in a way that doesn't make any sense on land.

I agree completely. My favorite scene from a technical standpoint is when Jake wakes up in the burned down village and him and everything else is covered in soot. The cgi is .

the cgi is so good that IMO they can go 100% CGI. that way they can still have longer arms .

Not surprised. This film originally was set much farther down the line, but when Matt Reeves was hired to direct he changed that cause he wanted to tell more of Ceasars story. There is only so much you can do with this one character that has such a limited life span. The series has to move on beyond Caesar.

I'm not sure if they'll go with that title, considering the poster above it just says "Avatar." There's also "Terminator" and "Jurassic Park" posters hanging around, which we already know is Jurassic World.

The apes are gonna have a big war w/ the humans that are against them.
Watch the trailers and you'll actually see that much
I hope that clears it up.

And 2 years between films (parts 2 and 3) isn't much of a huge time-skip if you ask me.

Any early reviews for this yet? I suppose its a bit early to ask but what the hell.

This looks amazing and I cant wait for it to come out, love the 1st movie so much and big fan of Reeves as a director so far.
