DC Characters who could defeat Thanos

As far as DC Characters in the DC Universe who I think could match up with Thanos possibly even defeat him in one on one hand to hand combat are:

Kal El (Son of Krypton) (Clark Kent) Superman himself
Doctor Manhattan of The Watchmen
Bruce Wayne/Batman (with Prep Time)
Darkseid
Spectre
Brainiac
Wonder Woman (with Prep Time)

I don't think Superman, Green Lantern, or Wonder Woman could and Batman with prep couldn't either since Thanos is probably even better with prep.

Thanos has defeated Galactus with prep, Batman's prep has never beaten someone that powerful. You forgot to add Doomsday, he has a better chance than most of the characters you named besides Spectre and Doctor Manhattan.

One on one hand to hand combat & you've got Batman in there? Even with prep-time given that Thanos doesn't have any real weaknesses (unlike Superman) & possesses superhuman strength, stamina, durability & to an extent speed, there's no way he's beating him in hand to hand combat.. Brainiac as well, not really a character known for his fighting ability.

Even without the Infinity Gauntlet Thanos is still insanely powerful, but there are a multitude of characters within both the DC (& Marvel universe) that have shown to have the power levels at times capable of beating him in a straight up brawl.
