Hasn't Grodd taken on the whole league before? I don't see what Hawkman could do on his own against Grodd, or how he could defend in anyway against Grodds mental abilities

The PC Grodd took on Superman, Wonder Woman and Hal at the same time. He mind blasted Superman unconscious, one-punched Wonder Woman while overpowering Hals ring and sending his attack back at him. He not only had the power, he did it while multitasking. Hal did rally and take him out though. A year or so ago I saw a thumbnail image of a more recent battle (from where I don't know) that showed him fist fighting Superman, taking and giving a couple of punches. It didn't show the ending. While he has no doubt had low showings his power level then and now is still high enough to rank him among the most powerful DC has.

But that little thumbnail image showed Grodd as powerful enough to trade punches with Superman and stay standing with, as far as I could tell, no Force-of-Mind power being used. I take it for granted that Superman will always win in a physical conflict with Grodd but it does show the approximate level of physical power that Grodd has and his mental power has always been even more formidable. Has Hawkman ever shown anywhere near that level of durability or the ability do dish it out on that level. If not then he cannot win.

Yeah, he has taken blows from guys as powerful as Supes.

Also, remember, Doc Ock has taken blows from Spider-Man, good guys tend to pull their punches.

Hawkman has gone toe to toe with Black Adam and held his own through most of the fight.

I still remember Batman and Robin swinging by, scooping up Grodd and Grundy and tossing them into the defeated villains pile on Superfreinds.
