I ask because DC Extended Universe was trademarked and various magazines and websites refer to the DC films in development as the DCEU, but that new DC special was called DC Films Presents and the newly official DC movie page is called DC Films.

Does it need an official universe name?

What's the official X-Men universe name?

I just call it Bob.

Ha.....ha........

I think DC Films sounds better. Has a nice, classy ring to it.

Officially it's the DCEU (Detective Comics Extended Universe).

I don't know. "DC Films" doesn't sound like a title, just a phrase. DCEU, OTOH, sounds like something you'd use to describe things *beyond* the movies, like with the Star Wars EU. So, neither really work well for me.

You may have answered your own question.

Well, reportedly since the TV series and film continuities will remain separate, in reference to the cinematic universe I'm calling it the DC Films Universe. Or DCFU. I guess one might also say DCFCU for "DC Films Cinematic Universe." But with Films in the title its already obviously a "cinematic" universe.

I believe that one of the heads of the DC films (either Snyder, Rovan or Johns) referred to it as the DC Extended Universe in a magazine.
