Marvel is like pirates of the carribean. It's campy family fun. It's ALWAYS going to make more dough than DC's direction. Being someone who loved MOS and BVS id be crushed to see them go campy and jokey.

I don't want them to go more remedial as you say, but I'm afraid that's where it's gonna head just to sell tickets. I've loved what they've done so far too. I gave up on Marvel. The constant jokes, silly villains, no stakes just doesn't do it for me. Great for family fun I think but I prefer what DC has done. I'll miss it if they start throwing one liners in on every scene.

Not everyone enjoys Marvel. I gave up . Campy, joke in every scene, horrible villains, a civil war where nobody dies. It IS family fun but I can't watch another one of these ridiculous movies with no stakes.

Right. They suck. Lol. DC needs to add talking raccoons and ducks. Don't forget to have every single character tell a joke or quip.

I gave up on Marvel. Too much campiness. Stuff sells. It's very family friendly like a pirates of the carribean tone but I'm just not a fan of campy stuff.

I'm bummed. I'm not paying for Marvel type humor, talking freaking animals, etc. Address Batman killing??? Who couldn't follow along with the narrative? Ugh. This sucks. They were earning the optimism and would have had it in the future. Everyone has to have everything right away. If it's not marvel like it sucks. So stupid. Johns is gonna destroy this.

Many don't WANT a marvel style universe. It's popcorn movie , no stakes, talking, shooting animal crap. NOW the dceu is in trouble. Wasn't before. These movies will suck if it's filled with stupid jokes.

It did work for family fun but many people don't want to see talking animals and jokes in every scene. This poll should have an option that says wish they wouldn't change things.

Well then we'll never know. Cause either the movies post SS are good or they aren't. If they aren't, it's basically Johns couldn't fix anything regardless of what he did or didn't do. If they are, how much credit would we give to Patty or Zack?

He's going to toe the company line one way or another. This is my biggest problem with who these things are structured, there's no honesty involved.

I mean while the movie was coming out everyone has to support it. But now that we put some distance from the BVS release Geoff can admit to some of its flaws.

TheVileOne is making some great points. Keep in mind, Johns is the guy who is co-producer on The Flash tv show on the CW. So many sing his praises, why? None of the writing on the show gets on screen without his final say. He calls all of the shots. If you want to see his creative say being put on screen just look at The Flash and Arrow, look at writing, forget the low budget, just look at the stories, does he deliver great ones? Can't name an episode sorry. He, Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim were part of the script team.

Here's an honest question. Is Geoff Johns really the guy to right the ship and get this all under control? Can he truly be DCEU's Feige?

Now I will tell you, 10 years ago, Johns was one of my favorite writers on the planet. I loved his Green Lantern and Avengers comics. Then I think after Sinestro Corp War is when I think Johns' writing started to take a decline in quality.

I thought New 52 Justice League was really badly written. Also the return of Barry Allen and what it did to Wally West was pretty terrible. I stand by that too.

Johns has had a significant role in DC Entertainment. He was clearly creatively involved in the Green Lantern movie, and that did not turn out well.

So I ask you all, should we really be excited that Johns is in a new creative role to have certain control over all these movies?

When these films get in the editing room, will he really make sure there is a clear singular voice and these movies don't come out to be a disjointed mess when they hit theaters?
