WB seems like they are getting their act together as far as doing more than Batman and Superman, but having a specific branch/sister studio to prioritize them sounds like a good idea.

Didn't the "Constantine outsmarts the Devil to reclaim his soul from damnation" bit come straight out of the comics? In fact, the only cop-out as far as that's concerned is that after the Devil cures his lung cancer to give him time to damn his soul again, rather than ending the story by lighting up a cigarette - like in the comics - they had him take that Nicotine gum that people use to stop smoking.

The way that he beats the cancer is substantially different in the comics than the movie. In the comics, the way he beat him, you get that satisfaction that he actually pulled a good one on the devil. It literally was a con to get him to live. In the movie, it seemed more like (IMO) that he wanted to ascend to heaven and he was twarted from that by the devil. Like there was really no implication that his plan all along was to stay alive, just to ensure that he gets a spot in heaven.


And yeah, the gum bit was pretty dumb as well.

DC as a separate studio is unlikely to happen, for the main reason that WB is already one. however the re-organization that was reported a while back within WB on the way it handles its DC properties could indicate that they will give the DC guys more creative input when bringing franchises to the screen, effectively making a "DC Films department" so to speak.

A great idea. I'd LOVE to see it but i just dont see it happening... Business-wise DC have always kinda had their heads up their asses...

yea we could never see dc as a separate film studio with the way wb owns and controls the dc company. what wb really needs to do with this dc films if they can ever get any other characters out there is like above poster said have more dc writers/artists having more input on the films.
