DC Universe - Justice League: Throne Of Atlantis

How was Jerry O'Connell as Superman?

He was really good, I was slightly distracted by Jason O'Mara as Bats though.

Mera really was the breakout character imo for this film especially her fight scenes. They were pure gold.

I like how Arthur went his entire life not really knowing about his heritage/powers but boy oh boy, after he shed that armor and faced Orm, he was a the beastmaster of the ocean. Summoning sea creatures left and right like it ain't nothing.

Also interesting how they combined the whole Trench storyline into this and had them become hired henchmen monsters.

He doesn't really have one. He told Flash he just hangs out in the Watchtower watching movies.

Vic just hanging in the Watchtower is the exact kind of thing that I'd want to see explored. Why doesn't he give himself a life?

Did Black Manta say
Orm irks the s*** out of me?
I'm not sure if I heard that correctly but it made me laugh :)

This was like Game Of Thrones under the sea.

It was a step up from JL:War for sure. Overall I enjoyed it for the most part. Pacing was fairly decent, though the 2nd half of the film seemed to move the story along really quickly which isn't surprising due to the length and it having to serve as a sequel and origin story. The two cameos that we got were nice.

I wish they would give WW a different costume though, this isn't bad, but I prefer her to have the one she has in the current JL comic. Makes her look less athlete and more warrior/hero. I don't mind the SM/WW relationship but boy am I ready to get her out of this fish out of water/strictly warrior mentality. Her and Mera basically seemed like the same person.

And WOW this was a bloody movie! I am surprised WB let them get away with it, especially after the WW movie had to cut out majority of the blood. I guess times have changed because everywhere you looked, someone was getting cut. Not that I minded but I was surprised.

The way they adapted this storyline left some questions that need to be answered though who knows if we will get them.
Is Manta suppose to be an Atalantian in this movie?, and if not, why is some random human so ingrained in their culture?

Is Mera suppose to be from that exiled tribe? How long she been around?

How did the army know who was attacking? And why did Orm go through the trouble of lifting the seas if he never brought them down?

I want them to give WW something more like her live-action costume. I DON'T like the glorified one-piece swimsuit that she wears in the comics.

And Flashpoint Paradox, Son of Batman, and Assault on Arkham were all pretty bloody/brutal. So I'm not really all that surprised that this one would be as well.

I saw the prescreening last night. Mera was pretty BA, and of course the film had its Easter eggs. The one they had to have in there, of course was this one:

it was actually pretty funny the way they did that scene.

Have you seen her outfit in JL?

I really like the WW costume in these movies, as well as her fighting style.

Does he appear as Steel or just John Henry irons?

Cassie Sandsmark is shown in Greece while Diana/Clark have dinner.

Quick question:

Is Ocean Master strong enough to hold off the entire League like he does in this movie?

Up until then I thought the movie was alright, but seeing how easily he took them down had me going

I think it has a lot to do with his Trident. Without it, he would have been defeated by a combined assault from the JL, let alone from just Superman.

The Trident seemingly acts like a double threat to both physical and magical properties.

The Trident was magically enchanted. That is why Ocean Maste was able to defeat Superman, Wonder Woman, and Captain Marvel. It was a very powerful weapon and it was mighty enough to raise the ocean and cause a tsunami.

It was John Henry Irons. They we created you regional seen from the comics superman actually saying john inspired him too later on become Steel in the future

The irony here though is that Ocean Master didn't really go all the way through with using a Tsunami/Tidal Wave to attack Metropolis. It was like the ultimate tease/letdown.lol

He could have done that, but the surface dwellers would nevwr have known that they were attacted by the Atlanteans (since most people attribute tsunamis as acrs of God). He kew that his forces were superior and he wanted the surface dwellees to know that. He would have gotten away with his plan if jot for the fact that Arthur was also worthy to weild the trident. This was also good storytelling in that it shows how powerful and important the king of Atlantis (i.e Aquaman) could be.

Solid movie compared to what we've gotten recently, I'd say this is the same level if not a little less than Assault on Arkham.

Good to see Bats not going toe to toe with anyone this time around where he would of gotten destroyed but instead used his wits etc.

Kind of looking forward to the next one.

Either way I hope they start getting better.

Yeah, he never threw one punch in that movie. He was more like the brains behind the justice league.

Yeah. there's the one scene
where bats questions anything he knows about ocean master
that threw me off. Felt a little shoved in there to give batman purpose.

Kind of nice to have him not take front and center, but still have a presence. Still don't know about this Diana / Clark romance.

This movie was better than JL: War and Son of Batman and had some fun moments (I liked Superman and Batman's dialogue "journalism is dead"), but ultimately I found parts of it quite bland.

With so much of the Justice League given little to do (Shazam, Flash, GL, Wonder Woman), I think this would have been better as a solo Aquaman feature.
