Convergence will be a nine-week miniseries kicking off April 1st, and will "spill into 40 two-part miniseries in April and May featuring a variety of writers and artists examining the worlds of the DC Universe over the decades, as well as the heroes and villains contained within." The story is described as a "meta epic" by co-publisher Dan DiDio, and involves Brainiac bringing together the populations of all of the multiverse cities he's trapped over the years in an experiment to see what would happen if they were to meet each other. Out of this, a new supervillian named Telos (Greek philosophical term for "end" or "goal") will be introduced. The series is to be penned by TV producer/writer Jeff King, who'll make his comic book debut.

Damn, that'll be 89 issues... Guess I'll stick with the 9-issue main story and get the tie-ins that interest me.

All I know is that if Ted Kord is back, I'm in :woot:

apparently they're putting all the regular titles on hold while this plays out? meaning, for two months the only comics DC will be shipping will be this event and tie-in's. im all for bold moves, but that just seems stupid. and all of this from a writer who's never worked in comics before? oh boy...

I'm very leery of TV writers writing comic books. 9 times out of 10 they just don't get it. I am curious about seeing the original Crime Syndicate and JSA again though as well as a return to the Tangent universe. I'll check it out.

It's during their move from NY to Burbank.

Well, Timothy Truman is apparently doing art for one of the two-parters. So is Pat Broderick. Tom Peyer is doing an Atom 2-parter.

it seems DC is getting some pretty cool talent involved with atleast the tie-in minis. And depending on that talen, I'll be buying them. Especially the Tim Truman book.

so marvel and dc are doing................ the same thing at the same time

What is Marvel doing? (I only buy 2 Marvel Comics books and generally ignore the happenings of the rest of their universe now a days).

A new Secret Wars pitting alternate universes against each other.

Oh ok.

In that case will people now say that they're both ripping off Countdown then? DC is once again plagiarizing themselves?

Like a song once said: "No idea's original. There's nothing new under the sun. It's not what you do it's how it's done"

is there a person who actually read all of countdown? countdown was awful

marvel and dc are saving me alot of money by making me not want to read anything anymore.

for the first time inmy life i dropped green arrow, the avengers, justice league etc. It's sad. i miss enjoying my books.

Never read an issue of Countdown in my life. Just pointing out the obvious. Story tropes are endlessly recycled in fictional media.

Don't know why you would drop books you enjoyed that have next to nothing to do with any of these events because of these events but that's your prerogative.

To save money. If i am not enjoying something then why am i going to keep buying it?

The implication in your posts was that you were dropping them because of the events since you're bringing this up in an event thread. At least that's the way I read it but if not then more power to you. One less person *****ing about these books on the internet.

No its not due to what the event is about. I never said i wouldn't check this out. Dont get your panties in a bunch

Check your tone bro; it's not that serious.
