Has anyone played this game yet? I picked it up last night and I can honestly say it's one of the freakiest, most suspensful games I've ever played. I put in about an hour last night, and already it's made me jump twice.

I'd highly recommend this game to any fan of the horror/survival genre.

It's a fun game. I really like it. Surprised OXM gave it a 6.5. They claim the game just sends you on a bunch of fed ex missions.

I didn't see the review. Everything I've read about it says it's one of the best new games out on the market. I got really into it last night, but I find a lot of areas to be really confusing. I do like the HUD and how you can still interact with the game while you're changing weapons, watching videos, etc. It's a nice touch.

The monsters/aliens, whatever they are, are pretty f**ked up.

I just downloaded the Elite Suit content on Xbox Live....it's supposed to be Xbox 360 exclusive.

It was free for only a limited time...dunno till when, but I figured I'd download it and keep it on my harddrive till I buy this game.

Because the game looks awesome.

The retooled HUD looks cool too.

Theres a really good Review on IGN, I might have to buy it after I finish Mass Effect and play through Fable 2

Played another hour last night and got to experience "zero gravity combat" which was really interesting. I also unlocked "the ripper" which is basically a circular saw that can dismember enemies quickly. The alternate firing mode (each weapon has one) shoots the blade and cuts right through the aliens.

This game EASILY rivals the sci-fi movies of the last decade. I'd say this will be a movie in about 2-3 years or so.

Beat the game last night. My final time was about 11hrs and 17min which is a pretty good length. This is easily the most suspenseful and f**ked up game I've ever played. The ending is weird, and once you discover what's going on you do one of those "oh ****" deals.

I'd give it a 9/10 only because the ending is a little short, but everything else is about perfect.

Here's what I'll tell you:

- The girl Kendra that has been helping you around the whole time turns on you and reveals that she is part of a company that was using Isaac (your character) to locate and retrieve the artifact for them.

Spoiler

- Throughout the game Isaac receives messages from his girlfriend or wife. At one point you meet up with her and she helps you pilot the ship with the artifact back it's planet of origin. Once you return the artifact it's revealed that she has been dead for awhile and the artifact made Isaac see her so that he would play along and re-unite the artifact with the planet.

- The monsters/aliens you encounter during the game are actually members of the Ishimura's crew that have been infected by the artifact. The ones that weren't turned were driven insane, and in a few areas you'll see them running around without eyeballs, or banging their heads against walls until their head caves in.

- It's a good idea to upgrade your line gun and "ripper" tool. I found myself relying on those A LOT during the game.

- Each weapon has an alternate firing mode that usually makes for some interesting combat.

- At the end of the game, Isaac defeats the big alien/monster and boards his ship to get away from the planet. He removes his helmet and begins to watch the video of his girlfriend (the one he's been watching since the beginning of the game). He erases the message now that he knows she's dead, and right when he does she (infected) pops out of the shadows and grabs him.

That's all I'll say about the game, except that it's a good idea to take out the legs of your enemies first, and this game WILL scare the s**t out of you. I haven't jumped or flinched at a horror movie in 10years, and I jumped about 20x during this game.

HIGHLY recommend it for anyone looking for a solid game.

I agree. The special suit you unlock at the end called "Military" looks like a Storm Trooper. It's pretty cool.

I just got this game after hearing such good things about it. I've been playing Fable 2 all night but popped this in for a bit before I go to bed.

I just fixed the tram but already this game has my attention. It's a beautiful game to look at, one of the best this generation. I am pumped to play some more, cutting off limbs is a joy.

I love that, when a monster pops out, yeah it's a little scary... but when the lights go out and nothing happens, that's really scary. That's what survival horror is supposed to be.

It really is the best survival horror game out right now. Have you tried the alternate firing modes for your weapons? If you're using the plasma cutter (the first gun you get) switching between firing modes can really help you dismember some of the aliens you encounter.

I played some more, just got to chapter 2. Upgraded to Suit 2. This game is pretty badass. The atmosphere is perfect.

I switch which angle the plasma cutter shoots at all the time, it's really helpful.

[Dark Victory]

Pretty good game. Not really scary, but surprising. The story was weak compared to the comic, every level felt the same,and had a weak ending. Though I loved blowing enemies to bits which is the only reason I couldn't put the controller down. My overall opinion: way overhyped, but had a few things that really stood out like how you could customize Isaac's armor, blowing enemies to bits known as Strategic Dismemberment, and a great attention to detail from graphics to blowing a necromorph and it transforming and still coming after you.

I'm playing this and Fable 2 at the moment. Dead Space has been garnering most of my attention though. I'm in Chapter 3 and am loving the Line Gun. That thing is powerful. I'm also enjoying using Kinesis to lob explosives around.

Yea, the games awesome, but hard. I keep getting stuck, and I refuse to buy any more weapons till I complete the One Gun trophy.
